This is Tiffany reporting to you as your new Public Relations Coordinator Intern! I’m extremely delighted to be given the opportunity to work with Lauren for the next two months. But before we go into the reason why I’m here, here’s a two paragraph blurb about me:
Student? Graduate? I am recent graduate from UBC’s Sauder School of Business with a specialization in Marketing and Logistics. I am, currently, STILL in school (yay!) pursuing further education in Accounting (yay! x2).
Hong Kong? Not really! I am a Canadian born Chinese who has been living Vancouver, BC for practically my whole life—with the exception a year ago, when I participated in an study abroad exchange program to Singapore for six months (yes, just like you, I was an international student myself!). The exchange program really opened up my eyes and motivated me to experience things I wouldn’t normally try at home: making sporadic travelling arrangements for the weekend, going clubbing every Wednesday nights, indulging in Southeast Asian cuisines, meeting strangers and making new friends who I miss every single day!
My purpose? I really want to make your experience here as memorable as possible. Whether you are working or studying or doing both, the time you spend here is irreplaceable. The people you meet will be unforgettable.
These philosophies are what my friends and I have gained while we were on exchange. It will be no different for you either. So here I will be, reporting to you as:
1. Your Reporter: updating you with the latest events in Canada and helping you reminiscence about past events (check our tweets, blogs and Facebook)
2. Your Event Coordinator: organizing activities and trips to satisfy your hunger of what Vancouver has to offer.
3. Your Point of Contact: if you have any suggestions for activity ideas or trips, let me know!
I look forward to meeting you at our events. Feel free to drop by the office anytime if you want to just chat.
