Exposé of the week – Toronto

Since one of our INTERNeX offices is located on the other side of Canada, I would like to introduce this nice place to you. Toronto, the largest city in Canada and the fifth most populous city in North America walks the line between multiculturalism and resolute northern independence. Masters of this balancing act are the Torontonians who embrace both worlds with open-mindedness and excitement.

Toronto is a center for theatre and other performing arts, with six opera companies, two symphony orchestras, more than fifty ballet and dance companies and dozens of theatres.

The production of foreign and domestic film and television is an important local industry. The Toronto International Film Festival, which takes place in September, is one of the most important annual events of the international film industry.

Besides, Toronto’s Caribana Festival is one of the largest annual street festivals in North America, taking place from mid-July until early August. It is primarily based on the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival and took place in 1967 for the first time. More than 40 years later, it attracts more than one million visitors to Toronto’s Lake Shore Boulevard each year.

Another exciting event is the Pride Week which takes place in late June and is known as one of the largest LGBT festivals in the world. It also, next to the Caribana Festival , one of the largest events in the city attracting more than one million people from all around the world.

It sounds like there is a lot to do, right? 🙂

Have you ever been in Toronto? How did you like it?
