INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend?

There is always something going on on weekends in Canada. Use your time while you are here and experience beautiful Canada. Of course you always can go skiing in Whisler or Grouse Mountain, it´s always fun! If you want to do something else, we have a few ideas for you. So enjoy your weekend and check that out:

Vancouver:

Skating at Robson Square:

Vancouver’s favourite outdoor ice rink is open! The skating rink at Robson Square will open daily, starting at 9am.

Skating is free if you bring your own skates, otherwise you can rent them easily at the Ice Rink. The will be hot drinks and snacks available to heat you up.

Skate Rental $4.00.

So try skating and enjoy your day!

Women´s Soccer:

At the moment there is the North American Women´s Soccer Olympic Qualification in Vancouver. Don´t miss the chance to see one of the best Women Soccer Players in the World. There are two games a day and the tickets are really cheap, from 10 to 35$. On Saturday the Canadian National team is playing against Cuba.

So why don´t you go there and watch the game at the amazing BC Place Stadium. The new arena is one of the best stadiums in whole Canada so it´s a great chance to see the stadium while you are watching the soccer game.

PuSh International Performing Arts Festival:

The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival is an event for local, national and international artists. It takes place January 17 – February 4, 2012 at venues in and around Vancouver and offers work from Canada, the US, England, Spain, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Argentina, The Netherlands and Mexico.

The PuSh Festival presents live performing arts with theatre, dance, music. There will be amazing artists and more than 100 performances and events. The events are all over the town, so click here for more information to know where it takes place. Tickets start around 20$. It´s a great chance to see artists from all over the world!

Toronto:

Toronto Island:

Toronto Island is a beautiful Place to go. You have to take the ferry (around 3$) and can enjoy a day. There are many nice restaurants and bars where you can have a coffee or tea to heat you up.

You definitely should visit the “Gibraltar Point Lighthouse“. It´s the oldest stone building in Toronto and one of the oldest Lighthouses in Canada. At night-time you have a beautiful view over Toronto. So it´s a cheap trip to a beautiful island!
