For todays episode of “Expose of the week” I talked to Emma and Frida from Sweden. Frida came to Canada because she heard from her friends that it was great here and also wanted get away from home. Emma came here because she wanted to have some international work experience. Emma stayed in Canada for 6 months and Frida stayed one month longer.
They both did City
Placement in Vancouver where Emma worked in a Coffee shop and Frida at a sandwich shop. They were lucky enough to have had the chance to work with really nice people and enjoyed making new friends there. At their jobs they had a lot of responsibilities for example Frida was responsible for everything in the store, from opening until closing. Emma was in charge of making sure the store was clean, making coffee and all of the closing duties.
According to Emma, the best things about working at the Coffee shop are the free drinks! For Frida, it
was her coworkers who made her experience at the sandwich shop.
They both agreed that the best thing about living in Vancouver, Canada was meeting people from all over the world and the amazing party and pub life. While being here they visited Bowen Island, Seattle and Mexico, which they thought were all amazing places to go to and they definitely recommend those destinations to others.
Emma and Frida also attended the INTERNeX PuB NiGHTs, which they felt were a great way to meet new people from all over the world and also to keep in touch with friends they already knew. They really liked the fact that nobody was tied down to a single group and everyone was eager to mingle about with all of the INTERNeX candidates. They also joined the INTERNeX Paintball event, which they survived with only a few bruises but with a lot of laughs.
The reason of choosing INTERNeX International Exchange was that they delivered everything in a packet and pre-arranged everything for them, even their accommodation. They both started at the Staffhouse and afterwards went to live together in an apartment. The two of them really liked living in the Staffhouse and wished they could have stayed longer.
Thank you both so much for having this interview with me.
I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
We will miss you here in Vancouver.
