Did you know it is BC day on Monday, August 6th? Since this will be my first time experiencing this public holiday I thought it would be a good idea to do some research so that I know what to expect..
BC Day (also known as British Columbia Day) is always celebrated on the first Monday of August. It’s a public holiday that allows all BC residents to enjoy a day off and spend it with family, friends and celebrate their achievements. Most people go away on a small trip during this long weekend. Others combine the day off with their holiday as it is always in the middle of the summer season and make longer trips.
There are a lot of great events happening all around Vancouver during the long weekend, and some of them are free too! The wooden roller coaster at PNE will be free, its the pride parade, there will be dance parties.. so much going on! Check out the ‘What to do on the weekend’ blog post later today for more ideas!
What will you get up to for the August Long Weekend? I’m going to spend it amongst the beautiful nature of the Rocky Mountains 🙂
Cheers,
Lies
