The newest member to join the INTERNeX team is Barbara. She is our new placement manager within our office. I enjoyed interviewing and getting to know her. I wish I had more time in the office to get to know her.
Where are you from?
I grew up in North Vancouver mainly but I have lived other places. I went to Australia for a year for school and I also lived in Nelson which is in British Columbia. But most of my life I have lived in North Vancouver.
Where did you attend school and what was your major?
After high school I went to Nelson for a 2 year program. This is where I graduated with a Ski Resort and Operations Management degree. After this I went to Australia to get my bachelors in Tourism and Hospitality. Then I went to BCIT to become certified in Human Relations Management.
Do you have any work experience prior to INTERNeX?
Yes, I was a delivery driver at North Shore Auto Parts. It was a really good job. I was able to go to the Sunshine Coast a lot and my hours were good.
What made you choose INTERNeX?
I saw the job posting on Craigslist and it looked like a really good opportunity. I want to be able to work with the Human Resources Managers as well as with the candidates at INTERNeX. The office being down was another huge benefit.
What do you think of INTERNeX so far?
I just started so I’m not sure. I am excited but nervous. There is so much to learn but I can’t really learn it until I actually do it. I am looking forward to learning it though.
What talents do you have or bring to INTERNeX?
I speak some French. I have also been snowboarding for 19 years. I am big into exercise, especially the Grouse Grind right now. I am also pretty good at crocheting. I can make a hat in about 45 minutes. I am pretty outgoing as well.
What plans do you have with INTERNeX?
I want to get into the feel of things. I also want to make new friends here.
