INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend?

So I just checked three different weather forecast websites to get inspired about what I could possibly propose to you as cool stuff for this weekend in Vancouver. I soon figured this was pointless as they pretty much only told me that it’s fall now and I should probably bring an umbrella – just to be on the safe side. Here are some great suggestions regardless of the weather:

  • Culture Days 2012: Vancouver Latin Event

Come celebrate united with 21 Spanish speaking countries that share the same language, music, arts and film. Experience the Latin flavor and feel the rhythm dancing Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha. Free dance lessons start at 8am, continuing till 10pm and followed by dancing till after 2am. No cover, no fee for the dance lessons all night!!! For info and reservations call Robbie Sanchez at (604) 355 1416 and find out more online.

When & where? Sat 29th & Sun 30th, 395 Kingsway Ave, Howard Johnson Hotel

  • Vancouver Film Festival

VIFF is among the five largest film festivals in North America as it screens films from 80 countries on 10 screens. The international line-up includes the pick of the world’s top film fests and many undiscovered gems.  VIFF 2011 included 20 World premieres, 30 International premieres, 49 North American premieres and 40 Canadian premieres. As the critics say, VIFF is very much a festival “designed for the benefit of people who love films and people who make them.” Check out the schedule and ticket prices here.

When & where? Sept 27th – October  12th  @  Vancouver’s movie theatres

  • Owl City concert

Do you remember the catchy song “Fireflies” from like 3 years ago? Yep, that’s the band I’m talking about. They are playing downtown tonight and tickets are only $35 (including fees)! Hurry up and get them here.

When and Where? Friday, Sept 28th, Commodore Ballroom, Granville St

Only recently, Owl City released their new album with the lead single “Good Time” featuring the Canadian sensation Carly Rae Jepsen (“Call me maybe”). Take this happy pop song as a start into another weekend. 🙂

Hope you guys have a GOOD TIME.

Cheers

Marianne
