INTERNeX Canada: The Picture of the Week

This photo was taken at last Sunday’s INTERNeX event at the BC Hall of Fame Museum. Being part of the BC Place Stadium (home to the Vancouver Whitecaps and Lions), the entire museum has only recently been renovated and is really a fun pastime on a rainy afternoon. We saw all kinds of memorabilia from BC athletes in various disciplines, played games and looked at dedicated exhibitions on some of BC’s heroes, Terry Fox and Rick Hansen, who committed their lives to raising funds and awareness for cancer and spinal cord injuries. The last part of the museum was about the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver of course. I liked this section in particular as it really succeeded in giving us and idea about the incredible atmosphere and feeling of togetherness that must have been in the wind during the games. I only wish I had been there two years ago. Vancouver and Whistler certainly were great hosts to the world and I’m sure Canada lived up to its reputation of a welcoming and hospitable country.

This picture shows Tobias and Sonnich checking out the shoes which one of the athletes used to wear during the 2010 Olympics. You can tell the shoes were their only focus! 😉

If you have nothing all too exciting to do this Sunday afternoon just join us for a trip to Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bloedel Conservatory – it’s nice and warm in there! 🙂

Cheers

Marianne
