INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

It is one of these weekends in Vancouver that you are reminded of how beautiful this city is. The sun really changes everything and it was hard to believe that it was the end of November and not September or something.

On Saturday, I went for brunch at a restaurant called De Dutch, an original Dutch Pannekoek House. They serve every kind of breakfast food possible, but of course I had to get their famous Pannekoeken.

I got the peach melba and whip cream flavour where you put all the ingredients and wrap it up with the pancake-crepe like dough. It was delicious, but it was so big and filling that I could only eat about half of it. What other kind of Dutch or European food should I try next?

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been to the cinemas, but this weekend I went and saw the movie “Lincoln” as my friend who was visiting from San Francisco really wanted to see it. This movie is about Abraham Lincoln, the 16th American President, and his struggles to pass the thirteenth Amendment which would abolish slavery in America during 1865 when the American civil war raged on.

It was very inspiring and I always question what I am doing with my life when I watch these types of movies. However, the movie was 2.5 hours long and I have to admit, I fell asleep for like 10 minutes because we ended up at the late showing that started at 11pm.

So, my weekend was very relaxed and an even more lazy Sunday where I just went for coffee and walked around downtown with a couple of friends. I think, though, you need these kind of breaks in life to keep you going when everything else is a little chaotic.

Hope you are having a great start to your week and make this last week of November a good one!
