we survived!
On Saturday afternoon, we went to North Vancouver to play some epic paintball! When we first got there, I noticed that there were a lot of people getting ready. I thought the getting ready process was way too long…filling out a waiver form, listening to their safety speech getting our guns and paintball, putting on overalls, and then FINALLY getting to play. And they take their safety rules VERY seriously…which is a good thing I guess.
The funniest thing I saw was a guy dressed up as a pink bunny! And his suit was skin-tight. And there I was padded to the max -two layers of pants, two shirts, and a puffy winter jacket. I can only imagine how painful it must have been for poor Mr. bunny. What a champion.
I think everyone had a great time, I know I did! We played four rounds in total, but most of us stopped playing after three rounds. I took a bullet on the arm and it hurt a lot at first but then got numb after. I now have a bruise. During my last game, I was the only one left from our group. It was so intense…I just wanted to get out of the game that I even contemplated shooting myself. I did hit someone though. It was such a triumphant moment…but brief.

After being physically and mentally drained, we all trudged to the local Earls restaurant for late lunch. Everyone was so hungry that we didn’t even talk during our meal. And later that night, I went to Forum pub on Granville street to say goodbye to some of our friends who are leaving soon. It’s always sad to see them go…but I’m really glad I got to be a part of their awesome experience here in Vancouver.
