INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend?

I’m pretty sure our luck ran out, because it’s back to rain this weekend.  Man, just when I thought it was getting really nice out…too bad. But let’s not get so discouraged by the weather because I got some awesome things for you to do:

Sakura Days Japan Fair 2013

This two day cultural fair is hosted by the Japan Fair Association of Vancouver  (JFAV). Experience Japan with hands-on workshops and try your hand at ikebana (flower arranging) and calligraphy, and origami and other Japanese arts and crafts demonstrations.

Where: VanDusen Botanical Garden 5151 Oak Street (37th & Oak), Vancouver, BC

Vancouver Maritime Museum’s Controversial Tattoo & Scrimshaw exhibit

The museum is showcasing an exhibition called TATTOOS & SCRIMSHAW: The Art of The Sailor !

The modern, western tattoo evolved from the early days of global exploration, when ancient mariners sailed to South Pacific communities and were introduced to the idea of body art. The practice of self-decoration became an artistic expression for sailors and an opportunity to create permanence in an otherwise unpredictable occupation.  Images of boats, women or items from home have morphed over the years into the tattoo artistry seen today.”

Have a great weekend, guys! Don’t mind the rain 😉

Cheers,
