Review of the year: January, February, March

2012 was gone forever and 2013 could only be better!!! The PR team had a lot of events and activities planned for the first month of the year and of course we started the year off with the first PuB NiGHT after Christmas.

For all sports fans among us, the January brought good news: Finally the NHL was back on! The excitement was obvious all over town! As you probably know, hockey is huge here in Canada and what happened was that the owners (NHL) and the players (NHLPA) had an enormous disagreement over the player’s salaries and contracts (collective bargaining agreement), resulting in a strike of the hockey players. As frustrating as it was with four long months of no hockey, the lockout was finally over.

And, of course always an exciting event, the PR team got a new member. We welcomed Flora into our team. She was born in Korea but moved to Vancouver when she was only seven years old. She was majoring in Communications at Simon Fraser University hoping to achieve a career in Public Relations and Human Resources. Besides studying and writing term papers, she loved meeting new people and traveling to different places… or even to places she’d already been before because she believes that you can make new memories each time you’re there.

Also, one of our former colleagues, Simon launched a new website of his own company, teccrab. If you want to start selling your products or have your own presence online, teccrab can help you to develop your website. Whether you are looking to improve your presence on the World Wide Web, planning to have an event, need a promo video for your event or are interested in knowing a little bit more about all the  the World Wide Web world, teccrab can help you out with all of this.

On the sad side, we had to say good bye to yet another colleague and friend. Our PR intern Irene completed her internship with us we were letting her go with mixed feelings. Irene has been with us for seven month and we wished her all the best for her future but were also sad to let her go.

As January ended, February began with yet another good bye for us. Queenie, also part of our PR team, had to say good bye as well. And as with Irene, we were dreading her final day. She had been with us for five month, so we got to know her quite a bit and would miss a friend.

Other than that, February was a very active month. The INTERNeX crowd went for a Granville Island Brewery tour; they skied and snowboarded at Cypress Mountain, celebrated Chinese New Year, and went to the Vancouver Aquarium.

March, the last month of our lively first quarter of 2013, was marked by St. Patrick’s Day and everybody’s anticipation for our big Rockies trip.

INTERNeX celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by going out to watch the parade in downtown Vancouver and drinking green beer! Crowds of green people, green food and drinks and a good parade – what do you need more?

After this, everyone was basically only passing time until we could finally go to the Rockies over Easter! Four days of sightseeing, exploring, and partying in Valemont, Banff, Lake Louise, Golden, Johnston Canyon, National Parks… And so ended the first quarter of another year full of adventures!
