What to do on the weekend?

OK New Year’s Eve is long gone – you thought! But why don’t seize the opportunity and celebrate it a second time? 2014 is the Year of the Horse! For the Chinese culture 🙂

Since Vancouver is home to the biggest Asian community in North America, there are usually multiple Chinese events throughout the year but the Chinese New Year Parade through historic Chinatown is a definite highlight. It has attracted over 50,000 spectators in the past and was host to over 3,000 performers.

Sunday, February 2, 2014, 12pm – 2pm

The 1.5km Chinese New Year Parade route starts at the Millennium Gate at Pender St. and heads east, turning south onto Gore St., then west onto Keefer St.

It’s a great place to be so don’t miss out on this colorful celebration.
