INTERNeX Canada: PuB NiGHT Review!

Picture time -smile!

Last night we gathered at the Library Square Public House for another round of drinks! It was really nice catching up again after a crazy fun night last Friday at the Pint. We talked about the upcoming trip to the Canadian Rocky Mountains! If you are interested, message us or come by the office! Our discussion during the night included so many topics like birthday traditions from different countries to our boring and quiet lives before INTERNeX pub nights and events!

And after feeling ashamed that I ordered tea and water during the previous pub nights, I decided to redeem myself by ordering one of the contemporary cocktails which were on special for just $6.50. I have to say, it was the most watered down, bitter, and strange tasting cocktail I have ever had. I truly regret ordering this drink. Some of the others ordered different cocktails, but they all seemed to agree that it was horrible. After adding some things to make the drink sweeter, it tasted a lot better than the first sip. Lesson learned: stay true to your self…and stick to what you like.

Cuba Blue

Just in case you might make the same mistake, here is a photo:

As for the place itself,  I thought it was cozy with the small tea lights on our tables. Also, we were seated at the back of the pub which made it more private. The music was really great, especially The Look by Metronomy! I think it’s my favorite song for this week!

For those of you who missed our pub night, you better have a good excuse 😉 but that’s okay you can make up for it when we visit the Vancouver Aquarium this Saturday. Check our Facebook event for more information!

Happy Thursday!

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: News/ Fun facts

All candidates take care! The PR team is coursed! Every single beach-day we have planned had to be cancelled! Do you know why? Yes, it is not difficult imagine the motive! Rain! It couldn´t be anything more!

In Spain just rains some days in the winter and when it does, we just stay at home (mm blessed nap) but here it´s absolutely normal “to live among” the rain!

The record of consecutive days of rain in Vancouver is 28 days set in January 1953, but googling a little bit about the rain in Vancouver you will get surprised that it is not on the top ten lists of rainiest cities of the world!

In fact the most of the rainiest cities are in “paradisiac places” as Reunion Island, Cook Island Fiji or Thailand!

The classic picture of Fiji where appears somebody extra tanned lying in a hammock taking a margarita in front of a paradisiac beach show just one face of the real Fiji!

I am sure that if we moved there and organize some beach day will appear the other face of Fiji!

Another curious thing is that there are different microclimates with important differences in the same Vancouver! Do you live in North Vancouver? Oh you definitely get more rain! There is a general rule which say that for every rise of 100 meters in elevation, there is an additional 100 millimeters of precipitation!

Do you know how many days it usually rains? Vancouver averages 166 days of raining! That means one every three days! Summer used to be dryer, so it will rain almost every day in winter! It is logical that Vancouver is also known as Raincouver!

But there is always a good plan to do in Vancouver even it´s raining! You can go to the aquarium, the salmon hatchery, the theatre and a lot of other places… it´s impossible to get bored here!

Cheers

Irene

INTERNeX Canada: Big Bus – Summer Party Bronze Sponsor

INTERNeX is happy to introduce one of our Bronze Sponsors for the upcoming summer party for our 10 year anniversary: Big Bus!

Big Bus is a very popular tour operator company that takes you on hop on – hop off tours in one of the biggest cities in Western Canada. They have a lot of special trips around Vancouver that allow you to go on great sightseeing adventures of this beautiful city. Would you like to do a 2 day tour or just a one day tour? Or would you like to get one of the many packages that allow you to see the aquarium, Capilano suspension bridge, Vancouver lookout, Chinese garden, Stanley park, Grouse mountain and many, many more!

Have you just arrived in Vancouver or have you been too busy with your work/internship to take a proper tour of the city? Then Big Bus is definitely worth it! In the two day tour alone you can see all the spectacular areas; English Bay, Stanley Park, Granville Island, Entertainment District, Robson Street Shopping Street, Chinatown and Gastown. The awesome thing is you don’t have to stay in the open air bus the entire time, you can get off whenever you want to do your own exploring and get on to the next bus at one of the designated stops 🙂 A one day pass and a two day pass gives you unlimited access for the whole day to jump on and off the buses!

It’s really easy, you can buy your ticket at the INTERNeX office, at a kiosk in Gastown, or with the bus driver. They accept cash, debit and all major credit cards. We hope you enjoy your future big bus tour! Tickets are also good for Big Pink sightseeing (pink double Decker’s) as well as False Creek Ferries. For more information about Big Bus please click here to visit their website.

INTERNeX would like to thank Big Bus for their support for our ultimate summer party and we look forward to having a good time with the Big Bus group!
