INTERNeX Canada: PuB NIGHT Review

Hi guys!

Yesterday, we went to The Railway Club for our weekly pub night! The music was excellent, they usually have amazing concerts. We could enjoy three fantastic rock bands: Double Fuzz, Ornament and Crime and Still Spirit. The pub was very cool. There was a little toy train that passed every few minutes over our heads, very funny! The special beer was The Moose Head. Of course, all the Canadians brands must to have the word “moose”, “maple” or “beaver”.

It was the first pub night for our new PR, Jelle . These nights are an excellent occasion for us (the super PR team) because all of us are new in the city and we are looking forward to meet a lot of people. So, don’t be shy! If you didn’t come, you have to join us the next time.

Most of them were from Germany, so we could talk about our loved Europe, shared impressions about Canada, and learnt some Germans words, ich danke ihnen! And we were talking about the next Saturday trip to Richmond Go-Kart too! If you are thinking about come or not, don’t hesitate! It will be fantastic. We have postponed this trip several times due to weather, but this time will be the good one!

Coming back home Jelle and I saw a couple of raccoon’s in the middle of the road! I had never seen one before, they are so cute… We don’t have pictures because it was very dark. Maybe the next time!

INTERNeX Canada: What to do this Weekend?

Its pretty much the weekend already and I feel like I say this every week, but time passes by too fast!

If you still want to come to Seattle, please do come by the office before 5PM today.  This is your last chance to come on this fun one-day trip of shopping and sightseeing. See you on Sunday at 9am for those of you coming and if not, here are some musical events to check out this weekend!

Bah! Humbug!

It’s Christmas which means it’s time for Christmas music and carols and stories! One of the most famous Christmas stories is Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, but have you watched the version about Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside?

This play will not only highlight vital issues affecting the Downtown Eastside, but also raise money for the Eastside’s community arts.

• When? Saturday, December 15^th – 2pm or 7pm shows
• Where? SFU Woodward’s (149 W Hastings St)
• Cost? $20, or $10 if you bring your student ID!

12 Bands of Christmas

Vancouver has some great local bands and here is your chance to check them out! 12 bands will be playing for 13 hours straight and all for a good cause. Greater Food Bank Society will be collecting money and food and this time of the year is when many people need your help!

• When? Friday, December 14^th 6am – 7pm
• Where? Fairmont Pacific Rim (1038 Canada Place)
• Cost? FREE, but bring some food cans to donate!

The VSO’s Traditional Christmas

Going along with the theme of Christmas music, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra puts on a great show full of Christmas carols and music. You can even sing along!

• When? Friday, December 14^th – Saturday, December 22^nd
• Where? Various locations in Vancouver, depending on where the concert is.
• Cost? $33-$38, or FREE if you have your Vancouver Inspiration Pass 🙂

INTERNeX PuB NiGHT @ Forum!

This coming Wednesday on the 6th of April the INTERNeX PuB NiGHT will be at the Sports Bar: Forum! The Forum is a really cool place, where you can watch all the sports games and have a good night. However, this Wednesday we have something special for you. There will be a BATTLE OF THE BANDS! They are looking for the number one indie band in Vancouver, so for example students bands from UBC or local indie bands starting out. Normally the cover will be $ 5 to get in, but if we are there before 10 pm we can get in for free! Our PuB NiGHT will start as usual at 8 pm, however make sure you are there before 10 pm, so you won’t have to pay cover!! Tell the people at the door you are from INTERNeX.
