How was your weekend?

Although it has been a slightly cold weekend, I had a lot of fun. Let me tell you all about it!

Cinema June 1st 2018On Friday, I left the office at 6pm, as usual. This time, I did not take the bus home right away. Instead, Kerstin, Nadine, Nadja and I went out for sushi at a place called ‘Momo Sushi’. Unexpectedly, our sushi was served within approximately 10 minutes after the waitress took our order. It is safe to say that the service was amazing. Just like our sushi. Our favourite: the avocado roll. And personally, I love the yam and vegetable tempura as well. The plan was to go to the cinema after dinner, however, the movie did not start until 9:35pm, so we decided to play Rummikub at 131 Water for a while. A few rounds of losing later, it was time to watch ‘I Feel Pretty’ at the cinema. A hilarious feel-good movie with an amazing message. I definitely recommend watching it. At 11:30pm, the movie ended and it was time to head home.

41842966624_2de5485e03_nI did not do anything special on Saturday, so let’s move on to my Sunday. On this day, I spent my morning sleeping in for the first time in weeks. When I was ready to say goodbye to my bed, I FaceTimed with one of my Dutch friends for a few hours. At 3.15pm, it was time to leave the house and go to the Extreme Air Park. Time for this week’s INTERNeX event! We spent the early evening jumping from trampoline to trampoline, playing dodgeball and basketball and jumping into foam pits. We even got to wear special glow-in-the-dark socks. I wouldn’t call it fashion, but they ensured our safety and whenever the lights went off, the socks were the only clothing items that remained visible. We jumped around for an hour and since we were all very sweaty, it was time to go home and have a shower. I spent the rest of the evening watching a movie and then it was time to call it a night.

I hope you all had a great weekend! See you on Wednesday at The Relish for PuB NiGHT!

Visit to Queen Elizabeth Park

This Saturday, September 20th, we’re going to visit the Queen Elizabeth Park. The Park is placed at the geographical center of Vancouver. Since the Queen Elizabeth Park is the highest point in Vancouver you can catch amazing views over the city. And of course the park has many beautiful gardens to walk through and enjoy. Some of the larger trees are about 60 years old. The coast redwood can grow to be one of the tallest trees of the world.

You’re able to do different activities there. So you can play Pitch& Putt, Tennis, Golf, Roller hockey, basketball, disc golf and lawn bowling. For sure it’s also fun just to watch other people playing, to relax and hopefully to enjoy the sun.
If there is anybody of you, who has a Frisbee, please take it with you, so we’re able to play Frisbee on the free Frisbee area. This would be a lot of fun.

If we’re getting hungry, we have the opportunity to have a picnic or to visit the Park Restaurant, which serves great food with an amazing view.

The Queen Elizabeth Park is sure to be one of the highlights of any visit to Vancouver.

The Park is near Oakridge-41st station on the Canada Line.
We’ll meet at the entrance along West 37th Avenue between Columbia and Mackie streets at 4 pm. Click here to get the way from the station to the entrance.

So let’s meet up for a fun day at the Queen Elizabeth Park.

Smart Saver

It’s here again. It’s time for Smart Saver and your chance to save money without having to do the research on cheap ways to have a fun and exciting time in and around Vancouver.

Ok, so it isn’t actually Monday, September 15th, yet… but keep your eyes peeled for this date. Every month Fortune Sound Club arranges a hip hop karaoke night. This is definitely not the ordinary type of karaoke. Not only will you be able to watch both good and bad karaoke performances, but you’ll of course also have the chance to try out your skills. The crowd is generally very supportive, so don’t be afraid to take on the stage for a performance. A playlist will be made beforehand, so you Just need to sign-up for a performance a couple of days before the event. Practice a bit beforehand and then you can have you’re five minutes of fame. And it won’t cost you a Dollar! For more information click here and here.

If you’re not so much a fan of karaoke, you can of course also do something completely different. How about a trip to Westminster Pier Park? Here you can play volleyball, basketball or just walk around the park and have a look at some public art. It’s all free! You just need to bring your own volleyball and basketball. Perhaps you can join in for a game, or you can bring your friends. In case neither you or your friends have a volleyball or a basketball perhaps you can get one very cheap at craigslist.ca. Click here for more information on Westminster pier Park.

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday

A Secret place to discover

Hi everyone! How is your Friday going? Maybe, thinking in the weekend? Probably yes.

Today I want to tell you about one awesome place that Mercedes and I discovered yesterday. We were looking for a place to eat and suddenly we saw a little hidden place between two supermarkets: London Drugs and Nesters Market (Abbott St with Hastings St).

It’s a little square with picnic tables to eat and take a rest, and a basketball zone. Very lighting and comfortable. Have a look at the pictures and judge by yourselves!

Vancouver has a large amount of hidden places, but you are lucky, we are here to discover them for you.

Shhhh!

Clara.
