INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and it really is getting cold here in Vancouver! Just Two more weekends til the Rockies Trip, are you excited?

On the rainy Sunday afternoon (it was more like getting drenched in buckets and buckets of water), 14 INTERNeX-ers took a little trip to the BC Sports Hall of Fame! Located inside the BC Place Stadium, we got to experience the rich history of BC’s prominent athletes, learn about Canadian sports and achievements and even try to attempt our skills at interactive games.

The first two exhibitions we were greeted with were the Heroes Galleries of Terry Fox ‘The Marathon of Hope’ and Rick Hansen ‘Man in Motion’. Now, if you don’t know who these two important figures are, you should definitely go to the museum to learn about them. Terry Fox had attempted to run across Canada with his one prosthetic leg, and Rick Hansen had wheel-chaired around the world to raise money and awareness for cancer research and spinal cord injury, respectively. I really enjoyed watching the videos about them.

Then we found the interactive games room, where we spent the majority of our time there. We got to climb a rock climbing wall that rotated like a treadmill, shoot soccer balls at a goalie in a screen, record our speeds on a race track and test our accuracy skills in hockey. This also led to a game of foosball table hockey that was pretty intense!

We wandered off to the Aboriginal Sport Gallery, the gallery of Maple Ridge’s Indy drive Greg Moore, and then of course, one of the biggest galleries was dedicated to the history of hockey. The best gallery in my opinion was the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Two years ago, the Olympics was one of the best experiences ever and it truly brought the whole city and country together. They have pretty much every original artifact you can think of and will be a great display for years to come.

After spending about two hours at the museum and we decided to go grab some food and drinks as we were all completely famished. We headed to this cozy pub called The Famous Warehouse for some cheap and delicious burgers and fries. Yum!

How was your weekend? Hope to see you at the Pub Night on Wednesday?

Cheers,

Queenie

INTERNeX Canada: Summer Party – A BIG thank you to everyone!

I know this was mentioned a lot at the end of the night, but for all of those that left the Summer Party a little earlier, INTERNeX would like to extend a BIG BIG BIG thank you to all of our candidates, sponsors and friends who attended!

The night was a great success with around 100 people there to celebrate INTERNeX’s 10 year anniversary! There were plenty of games throughout the night and we had a large group of winners that won prizes for gokarting, paintballing, BC Sports Hall of Fame, a trip to Whistler, a shopping trip to Seattle and many more!

For those who won prizes, please don’t forget to come by the INTERNeX office to trade in your gift vouchers for the actual prizes!!
