PuB Night Review

What a fun (and late) night!!! I honestly wasn’t planning on having a big one but with the atmosphere of everyone enjoying theirselves it was hard to keep away from the drinks :).

I have been having many ‘firsts’ lately and I experiences what a night out at the Yale Saloon was like, and I loved it! It was too great to catch up with everyone again and talk about our week. The food went down a treat and was well needed for a big night of dancing and bull riding. It was so great that the +18 were able to join us for dinner and have a go at the line dance. It seems to be that the most wanted drink for the night was Jagerbombs, there were a few fireballs here and there but personally fireballs remind me of my second night in Canada (wasn’t a good one) hahaha.

After few more Jagerbombs and bull riding competitions we were then ready to move onto the Roxy where we enjoyed live music of some old favourite hits. While dancing I look into the distance and oh my, what did I see…… but a beautifully set up beer pong table, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing this table. It didn’t take long till we had taken over one whole half of the club with this intense beer pong game. As the night went on the live music forced us to the d-floor and the last of us danced and sung the night away. Before we knew it we were at Roxy Burgers at 2:30am reminiscing on our fun night and laughing over some burgers and fries.

Thank-you everyone for such a great night, I LOVE YOU GUYS! I have been feeling a little homesick lately but you guys bring my mood back up and I appreciate you all ❤

PuB Night Review

Wow, wow, wow. You guys are crazy! But I love it! It was my very first PuB Night and I was definatly not expecting the turn up we had. I was lovely meeting so many new faces and it makes me love Vancouver so much more knowing I get to spend my Wednesday nights with you!

IMG_5234.jpegThis PuB-Night started off to be a bit more classy than the usual PuB-Nights are. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory, which is a restaurant and not a PuB, but you know … sometimes we do crazy stuff and break the rules ;-D!

Spread across two full tables we enjoyed a 3 course meal; entree, main and dessert along with some sneaky cocktails to wash it all down. The service was brilliant and were always asking if we needed more drinks (which is always necessary for PuB Night XD) The drinks were surprisingly cheap as we had Long Island ice tea on special and yummy banana mamas for only $6.

There was many discussion around the table about how late we were going to party till tonight as last Wednesday was quite late.

IMG_5252.jpgTime didn’t seem an issue as the night went on and we moved to The Cambie . It’s difficult to go home when the group vibes are too good. Beer Pong is always a great way to bring the group together and have a tournament. We were clearly having too much fun as other people around the bar wanted a turn and soon became friends with strangers. It was the last game, the finale and it was INTERNeX V.s Australians, sadly, they won but they gave the winning money to INTERNeX who turned the money into …… you guessed it, FIREBALL SHOTS. We thank those random Australians for their good sports.

The Cambie wasn’t the last stop, as the night went on we moved the party to Roxy where we shared more drinks and danced the night away. Overall it was a great first PuB Night and we thank those who came along to join the fun.

It was my first PuB Night and I couldn’t have summed it up any better. I love spending time with my INTERNeX group and you all made me feel so welcomed! I will be looking forward to many more crazy nights with you!

PuB-Night Review

What a fun night – again. I know I’ve been saying this pretty much every Wednesday now, but I am honestly having such a good time with you guys. Thank you!

Last night we went to the Beaver again, the place where it all started – at least for me. And I honesty cannot believe it’s been almost two months since then!
One of the best things about the Beaver is also the fact that our 18 year old candidates are allowed to join as well. It’s always so nice to have everyone together!IMG_4828.jpg

So as always, we started the night with a few beers and some fireballs. And yes – of course I went for the nachos again!
And what would a Wednesday night at the Beaver be without music bingo? Considering the fact that we were such a big group, I was absolutely sure the victory will be INTERNeX’. Usually the luck always sticks with the newbies, and since we’ve got three this week, my hopes were pretty high to be honest.
But for some reason the luck was not on our side this time. Nobody got a single bingo .. what a disappointment. But of course our mood didn’t get harmed by this.
So after a few hours we got our stuff together and made our way to the Cambie. Always keeping in mind, that this was the more important match to win … after what happened a few weeks back (still bothering me btw).
But as we got there, no Beerpong atmosphere was to be found! Apparently nobody in there wanted to play a Beerpong tournament at this time, at least that’s what we’ve got told. Obviously this was not a reason for us to give up or even go home.
So after a few friendly chats with the bartenders, we got some cups and balls and since we were enough people to make 4 teams, we just started our own little tournament.
And as soon as we started, so many other people joined in and it just happen to turn out just as big as the usual Beerpong nights at the Cambie.
Anyways, not trying to show off here but the girl power, once again, proofed it’s strength and won the INTERNeX Beerpong tournament. I am so proud ladies, even tho we didn’t get to win the T-Shirts!
I really hope that someones ego recovered by now :-D.
(I am really sorry for the quality of this picture…. my camera just isn’t really the best :-D)

Anyways I had a fantastic time and a short night!
Thanks again for such a fun PuB-Night, you guys are fantastic!

So for those of you joining the hockey game – I am very excited to see you on Sunday.
And the rest I hope to see you at next weeks PuB-Night at the 131 Water Kitchen & Bar.

Have a lovely Thursday!

Cheers,

—Nadja

PuB-Night Review

Thank you guys! This was such a fun night!

Last night we went to The Cambie Bar & Grill, to check out this well known location ourselves. Even though I haven’t been to Vancouver for that long, I’ve heard many stories about it. And to be honest, as I heard they host a beer pong tournament on Wednesdays, I knew we would have to go there.  IMG_4553.JPG

Drinks went down well and the food was delicious. Especially the free nachos were appreciated :-D. Thanks again to the neighbour table, who clearly underestimated the “monster” nachos! As we all had some time to talk about how life has been treating us so far, the real serious stuff came up – what teams to make for the beer pong tournament. After long discussions, INTERNeX sent 3 teams into the race.
As this was all about fun, we realized pretty early, that some other teams take this way more serious than others … ;-).  So the INTERNeX crew had to stand together in this tournament after all. It ended up in a European (which was us) against not-European battle. We even made it to the final!
Only then we got told, that the winning team will get free “Cambie Shirts” …. motivation was on!

Unfortunately we lost that one very fast and kinda obvious. I’ll have to admit, we didn’t stand a chance against the CRAZY team we had to face. Congratulation guys, well played.

IMG_4560.JPGEven though INTERNeX couldn’t bring home this cup, we still enjoyed it very much. And I still made a winning experience, I had my first fireball, what an experience! To be honest – I definitely expected worse, I even liked it.

So thank you very much guys! This has been a great night. Can’t wait to see you all again at next weeks PuB-Night at the Portside Pub.

Cheers,

—Nadja

How was your weekend?

I hope Monday has treated you well. At least the weather has been treating us very well through the whole weekend. Let’s do a little recap of what happened during these sunny days.

This weekend was a pretty chill one for me. On Friday we spent the night chilling with some friends. We made delicious dinner together and started the night of by playing some beer pong. We also checked this one veteran bar called The Legion where you can find pretty cheap drinks (just saying).

On Saturday I headed to White Rock to visit my friend. White Rock is located right next to the US border and it is pretty cool since you can literally see to the States while standing on a beach in Canada. Once again we enjoyed an amazing sunset at the beach. Yes I really am a big fan of sunsets.

lasertag.jpg

Sunday it was time to gather up the INTERNeX gang and head out to play some Laser Tag! We played two rounds all together and I must say I did not expect it to be as sweaty as it was. It really was a work out. Especially in our first round when we had about 30 kids playing with us and running around like crazy. The second round was luckily a bit calmer since we had some adults playing with us. In the second round our gang was also divided into two different groups so we had the chance to compete against each other. Not mentioning who won and who didn’t but my team did play pretty well 😉

Big thanks to everyone who showed up. This week we have a lot of things coming up so make sure to stay tuned!

First things first, PuB NiGHT this Wednesday @ The Two Parrots!

How was your weekend?

Yes, I’ve been broken-hearted…  Blue since the day we parted… Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma mia, now I really know, my, my, I should not have let you go. Those words pop into my head when I think about the weekend. It was a long and fun one, so before we head back to work, I will tell you all about it.

My weekend started Thursday evening. The day was finally there: ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ was released in the Canadian cinemas! Officially, its release date was July 20th, but we were lucky enough to watch it a day earlier. My opinion on the movie? Well, let’s say I would be up for rewatching it. More than once. If you loved the original, I think you will definitely love the sequel too. I laughed a lot and even shed some tears. Yes, I completely immersed myself in the movie. After a fun evening filled with ABBA songs and popcorn, it was time to go home.

Victoria July 2018On Friday, I had another fun day ahead of me. I went to Victoria! Antonia and I took the ferry to Swartz Bay and from there; we took the bus to downtown. Once we arrived, there was one word that described the city perfectly: cute. We spent the day strolling around the city. We saw the BC Parliament Buildings, Fisherman’s Wharf, the beautiful coastline and many cute shops. Taking the ferry and bus for a couple of hours was definitely worth it.

28708528597_2ef377d88c_nSaturday, it was time for our INTERNeX event: Deep Cove. We went on a nice hike in the forest and had lunch with a view when we arrived at Quarry Rock. Since the weather was amazing, we relaxed at the beach for a while when we finished the hike. After that, we got ourselves some delicious ice cream and headed back to Vancouver. When I arrived at home, I took a shower, made dinner and then it was time to leave the house again. This time, the destination was the Bourbon in Gastown. I spent the evening dancing and playing beer pong and giant Jenga with some of you.

After walking a total of 30 kilometers during the weekend, I decided to take it easy on Sunday. I spent the day reading a book in my backyard and watching YouTube/Netflix. I hope your weekend was just as great as mine was!

See you on Wednesday for our PuB NiGHT at 131 Water!

PuB NiGHT Review: Steamworks

Wow, I think that was a new record last night. After 30 minutes into PuB NiGHT, 90% of the seats at our table were already full! So many of you showed up, new and old faces – it couldn’t have been any better. Last night’s PuB NiGHT was at Steamworks Brewpub. Located in Gastown, the pub offers a variety of self-brewed beers as well as many cocktails. And for the hungry ones, delicious food like burgers, pizza and salads can be found on the menu.

Everyone has a drink? Good. Skål! The Swedish part of the group knew how to motivate everyone to have another sip of their tasty drink. And so, after raising our glasses, we continued the conversations we just had. There were so many people at yesterday’s PuB NiGHT, I decided to change my seat several times so I could have a chat and laugh with as many of you as possible.

Oh look, it’s already 11.30pm. Time for those that have to work early the next day to go home. And for the rest: Well, we decided to make a detour to the Bourbon before it was time to go to bed. Reggae music was being played by a live band and the atmosphere was relaxed. The beer pong table was free and ready to be used. Eirik and Kerstin vs. Linus and me. Unfortunately, my team lost. But we had no reason to hang our head. There will be a next time and then, we’ll win!

I hope to see many of your faces this Saturday at the Earth Day Parade!
