INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend!

Last Saturday we went for a fantastic Big Bus Tour around Vancouver. Vancouver has too many places to see, but if you don’t have enough time this bus is the perfect option for you!

It was a little bit cloudy at the beginning, but still we could enjoy the beautiful city and during the tour the sun showed up!

We started the tour in Water Street, in Gastown, and the bus took us to the most beautiful and important places in Van!

The bus from Gastown took us to Canada place and then continued its way to English Bay.

The bus continued to Stanley Park, and there we  changed to a special bus which goes over the whole park. There we could enjoy the Lost Lagoon, the Totem Poles and then we stopped to take pictures of Lions Gate Bridge!

This was one of my favorite parts of the tour because from some points of Stanley Park we could see the amazing skyline of Downtown Vancouver!

After Stanley Park, we continued our way to Granville Island, this amazing and peculiar place!

There we could take a ferry loop on False Creek from Granville Island to English Bay and return.

When we finished exploring a little bit the Public Market we came back to finish our tour, going over the Chinese Gardens and Chinatown.

I forgot to mention that during our tour we could enjoy 2 big events in Downtown: The Anime Revolution 2013 and the Vancouver Zombie Walk!

Without any doubt, it was an amazing afternoon !!

What did you do during the weekend guys? I hope you enjoyed it as I did !

See you soon!

Best,

Mercedes

INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend!

Middle of August and we have to make the most of the summer and Vancouver !

If you don’t know what to do during the weekend here I give you some ideas.

Big Bus Route Map

On Saturday, we  go to the Big Bus Tour around Vancouver (Remember that the 3 winners of the “Best Rockies Trip picture” win a 2 day pass for free).

This hop-on, hop-off bus offers you the opportunity to go all over the wonderful and most important places in Vancouver and the best part of it is that you can hop on, hop off as often as you want to take pictures, to enjoy the views or just simply to drink a coffee.

Meeting point:  Gastown Big Bus Welcome. Stop #1  (On Water Street just 20 steps from the Steam Clock )

When:  Saturday 17th August, at 1.30 p.m.

Price: Student pass for 1 day: $37. Student pass for 2 days: $42

For those who prefer a frenetic journey, I have another idea, but this one crazier. The annual Zombie Walk is here. This walk has going for years, and each one is getting bigger and bigger.

Please, do not vandalize anything and obey the police. That’s very important !

If you want to survive to the Zombie Walk, check it out this map, which will tell you where to go to get the supplies necessary to battle the brain eating zombies.

Survival Map Downtown

Date: August 17, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (assemble around 3 p.m.)

Where: Starts at the Vancouver Art Gallery and the walking dead then proceed to roam the streets of downtown. The zombie infestation travels up Robson towards Denman Street. It continues to English Bay and ends at the laughing men statues.

Best,

Mercedes

INTERNeX Canada: Travel Tip (not only) for Newcomers – Big Bus Vancouver

A new city is super exciting and also a little overwhelming sometimes. No doubt about that. So many things to see, places to go, activities to engage in and the hardest part would be how to fit it all into one or two days of hardcore ‘sightseeing’ rather than wandering around on your own and spending hours to get from A to B. I’ve had the same problem when I first got to Vancouver even though the city is rather small if you compare it to the megacities of the world. Still, it’s way bigger than my home town with 3000 inhabitants in the middle of nowhere. 🙂 So here’s the solution for this issue: Big Bus Vancouver!

Actually I love doing this in pretty much every city I go. First spend one day on the Hop On Hop Off bus, decide where you really wanna go and check out these places on your own the day(s) after. That’s how it worked perfectly for me in cities like Paris, London, Sydney, Barcelona and Berlin – no clue why I never considered it for Vancouver. Only last week, we – the PR team – got the chance of experiencing a Big Bus tour ourselves and this was when I realized that I hadn’t seen like half of Vancouver yet (and I had been to Van TWICE before I got here again about five weeks ago…shame on me, I know!). Well I guess you see everything from a different perspective too and it makes you detect a different side of the city. The tour took us from the starting point in Gastown to English Bay, then continued to Stanley Park before heading back downtown on Robson Street. After a little detour to my favourite place in Vancouver – Granville Island -, the friendly bus driver took us all the way to the BC Place Stadium and Dr. Sun Yeat-Sen Chinese Garden before we finished our loop in Gastown again. The best part about Big Bus is, that you can hop on and off as often as you like and whenever you feel like going for a walk or checking out the cute dress in a shop on Robson St, you can definitely do it. Have you seen one of these pink double-deckers roaming around Vancouver yet? They are also included in the price as well as the ferry loop on False Creek, for example to take the shortcut from English Bay to Granville Island directly on the water.

Big Bus is a great way to spend a day or two exploring this beautiful place and probably discovering more than you would see if you did it on your own. Check out their website to learn more about the tours, special offer packages and prices.

Hope to see you tonight at Karaoke!! 🙂

Cheers

Marianne

INTERNeX Canada: Big Bus – Summer Party Bronze Sponsor

INTERNeX is happy to introduce one of our Bronze Sponsors for the upcoming summer party for our 10 year anniversary: Big Bus!

Big Bus is a very popular tour operator company that takes you on hop on – hop off tours in one of the biggest cities in Western Canada. They have a lot of special trips around Vancouver that allow you to go on great sightseeing adventures of this beautiful city. Would you like to do a 2 day tour or just a one day tour? Or would you like to get one of the many packages that allow you to see the aquarium, Capilano suspension bridge, Vancouver lookout, Chinese garden, Stanley park, Grouse mountain and many, many more!

Have you just arrived in Vancouver or have you been too busy with your work/internship to take a proper tour of the city? Then Big Bus is definitely worth it! In the two day tour alone you can see all the spectacular areas; English Bay, Stanley Park, Granville Island, Entertainment District, Robson Street Shopping Street, Chinatown and Gastown. The awesome thing is you don’t have to stay in the open air bus the entire time, you can get off whenever you want to do your own exploring and get on to the next bus at one of the designated stops 🙂 A one day pass and a two day pass gives you unlimited access for the whole day to jump on and off the buses!

It’s really easy, you can buy your ticket at the INTERNeX office, at a kiosk in Gastown, or with the bus driver. They accept cash, debit and all major credit cards. We hope you enjoy your future big bus tour! Tickets are also good for Big Pink sightseeing (pink double Decker’s) as well as False Creek Ferries. For more information about Big Bus please click here to visit their website.

INTERNeX would like to thank Big Bus for their support for our ultimate summer party and we look forward to having a good time with the Big Bus group!

Casual Friday!

Hi everyone,

This week I would like to share some pictures with you which the PR-Team made last Wednesday during a Big Bus tour.

So now and then the bus stops, so that the passengers have the possibility to make some pictures. The bus stopped in Stanley Park and we had 7 minutes to go out of the bus and make the pictures. Unfortunately, 7 minutes is not a lot! So, When Claudio and I made some pictures and we came back to the Big Bus the Bus was already gone!

No Problem! We just made some more pictures of the beautiful Stanley Park and took the next Big Bus to continue our tour through Downtown Vancouver.

The whole PR-team had a great day because we had beautiful weather and we saw many things that the city of  Vancouver has to offer!

Enjoy your long weekend 🙂

Cheers, Lydia
