Smart Saver Vancouver

Knock Knock…. Who is there?….. It’s the ghost of HALLOWEEN! Yes people, that’s right, it’s just only 3 weeks until Halloween. That means houses will be decorated again, people will dress up, kids will go trick or treating and parties will be held. Since dressing up has been fun ever since we were kids ( let’s be honest probably everybody dressed up when they were a child) a lot of you are may considering to buy a Halloween costume. To help you out a bit and to also make sure that you save some money to spend during the amazing Halloween party, we listed down some Halloween costume shops where you can buy fun and cheaper costumes.

Value Village

Value Village is a Halloween costume shop located at E Hastings St and Victoria Drive. They are the perfect store for people who do want to buy a costume but are on a budget. They have a selection of second hand costumes and a lot of D.I.Y. tips.

They are open from 9 am to 10 pm everyday, except Sunday, when opening is at 10 am.

Just Imagine Costumes

Just Imagine is a store located on Granville Island in the Kids Market. They do not really have a lot of cheap costumes but they do have some costumes on sale which are a pretty good deal.

They are open from 10 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week.

Seasonal Halloween stores

When Halloween is coming closer there are also a lot of stores opening and selling Halloween stores. Those are most of the times only open for the season but you might also want to check out Shoppers Drug Market, Rexall, London Drugs, Dollarama, Dollartree etc.

Do it yourself

And if you are a very crafty person D.I.Y. is always a good thing to do, just buy a white t-shirt cut some holes in it and add some fake blood and you are good to go!

Hope you all will join us next Saturday during our own Halloween shopping!

INTERNeX Canada: Smart Save Vancouver

Ok, all the people know, Vancouver is an expensive city. But with our “Smart Saver” guide, you can take notes about our little tips to keep your budget safe. Today, cheap Tuesdays!

Sometimes is really hard to find good deals in our dear Vancouver. Cheap and clean at the same time… is not an easy issue… for the common people. Not for us.

One trick is go to eat or drink something in the less busy days during the week. Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays are usually days without a lot of movement in the pubs and restaurants, so they try to attract customers with special deals. Today is the turn of Tuesdays!

 – The Backstage Lounge: $1.59 draft beer. This place is pretty far away, in Granville Island. But is a place that you have to know, I recommend to take a taxi boat. It’s around $5 a trip to Yaletown – Granville Island.

WHERE: 1585 Johnston Street MAP

 – The Moose: 25 c chicken wings! I’ve never been in that place, but I heard that the wings are amazing. If you decide to go, tell us about your experience!

WHERE: 724 Nelson St MAP

– The Metropole: $2 beer $2 tacos. Well, I have to say that I didn’t try the tacos but they look very good. And the beer… is cheap but a quite small (what did you expect?) and it is served in a plastic cup (sacrilege!).

WHERE: 320 Abbott Street MAP

I hope you enjoy my advice…

Clara.

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday – Tips for renting a car

Hey there,

Friday, the last day of the week so almost weekend!
Today I want to talk about renting a car in Canada. There are several option you might wanna know about! I discovered that there are a view things you should know before you rent one.

First of all you there are a lot of company’s around the Vancouver Airport area. Examples of these are Alamo, Budget, AVIS or Hertz.. It’s really easy to rent a car online from one of these companies. But, because of most of us are under the 25 you have to be aware of the age surcharge. This is a charge $25-30 each day you rent a car if you are under the 25 years old. Another thing is the damage collision waiver. If you do not select this extra insurance you are unprotected for accidents etc. This is also between the $25 dollars.

In other words, you have to expect a lot of extra costs on top of the price you see online. But to make it more easy Alamo has a special under age package. All the things I discussed above are included so you are fully protected. When you pick up the car you have to pay a full gastank and that’s it! If you do not have a lot of money this is the solution.

The other option for car rental is with one of the sharing car companies. The first one is Zipcar. This is a car sharing company that gives you temporary access to a car if you are +21. You can rent cars for $8 per hour (excl. yearly membership fee). All you need for this is a membership, your driver’s license and your driving record.

The second sharing car company called Car2Go. This is an easy option if you want to travel from point A to B. There is no return time or location. You look on the map, pick up the car, and when you’re done you can just park it within the home area of that car. Everything you need is included in one price, really easy!

This Sunday I have rented a small car via Alamo just for 1 day. It’s easy and close to Vancouver to make a daytrip to Whistler and the waterfalls!

Hope you have a great weekend as well,

Jelle

INTERNeX Canada: Valentine’s Day on a Budget

Today is Valentine’s Day! But this doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money trying to make this day special for your sweetheart. There are many ways you can save money and have a great time with your date!

cheaper Valentine’s Day cards, gift bags, gift wrappings

A great way to save some money today is getting a Valentine’s day card at the dollar store…if you don’t mind the card coming from a dollar store, that is. Dollar stores nowadays carry almost everything you need  -from kitchenware, camping gear to decorations for all occasions. They also have really romantic cards for an occasion like today! So why not save a couple of dollars, and buy a card from a dollar store instead of pricier places like Carlton or Hallmark? Cards are cards…it is what you write it in that makes it special 🙂

Ice Skating at Robson Square!

Just spent all of your money on a fancy dinner and don’t know what to do after? Bring your date to the Robson Square ice rink for a night of  free ice skating (if you bring your skates!). If you want things to get more exciting and you want to show off your skating skills to your date, check out Valentine’s Day Ice Dance Competition, which is also free and open to anyone. Skate rentals are available for $4 per person. Ice skating is super romantic and perfect activity for Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day, spread the love! ❤

Cheers,

Flora

They can arrange everything you need for your perfect trip; you don´t have to worry, just have fun! They can provide you with sightseeing excursions, theatre tickets, night club entrance or games tickets! They also offer a nice price for an airport pick up! Don´t pay more, just chose better!

The INTERNeX PR-team tried their activities personally and enjoyed an awesome afternoon of wakeboarding! We went to Deep Cove, an exceptionally nice place! The guides were very kind and helpful, so wakeboarding so much fun! We had our own boat and spent our afternoon practicing, listening to music and having fun in this incredible place! Can´t ask for more!

Easytrips Vancouver knows and understands the circumstances of young travelers and adjusts each trip and activity to their special needs. That´s why they offer the perfect combination of price and quality! They know what YOU need and they make it real!

Thank you Easytrips Vancouver for being our sponsor!
