Remembrance Day

Hey Everybody! As you might know it’s Remembrance Day this Tuesday, and there’ll be several parades in Vancouver. So what is Remembrance Day? Well basically it’s a day to remember all of the Canadians who sacrificed their lives during World War I and World War II. It’s to remember that these soldiers sacrificed their lives for a greater cause. The parade starts from Victory Square in downtown Vancouver. You can find more information on this parade here.

The event takes place on a Tuesday but it’s a public holiday. We’ll meet up at 9am in front of Vancouver Film School at the corner of the the intersection West Hasting Street and Cambie Street. If you’re not able to join this early you can also join in later. Just post a comment on the Facebook event page, so that I know where we can meet. You can sign up for this event here.

Pub Night Announcement

This PuB NiGHT on Wednesday with beer under $6 and awesome burgers!!

 

It’s almost Wednesday, so it is time for our weekly PuB NiGHT and time for having fun together. So for tomorrows PuB NiGHT we will meet us at “The Black Frog” Pub in Gastown.  If you didn’t know this place before, just come because we are sure you will love it. It’s very close to the famous Steam Clock in Gastown.

“The Black Frog” Pub does have every day some special offers. So on Wednesday you will get a Kronenbourg 1664 or Blanc in a Pint for just $ 6.25. They also have a big assortment of different kinds of food and cocktails, wine and beer. Most of the draught beer you will get under $6, like Okanagan Spring 1516 Lager ($5.25) or Crooked Coast Altbier ($ 5.25).  You also should try their very delicious burgers!

INTERNeX Canada: PuB & CLuB NiGHT Announcement

This weekend, we will have our legendary pub & club night ! If you don’t know about what I’m talking, once a month, we meet on Friday night instead of Wednesday evening for a few drinks, and tons of fun. So join us to enjoy a really nice evening with the INTERNeX community in one of the most famous bars of Vancouver.

The chosen place this time is The Cambie, the best place in Downtown to save some money because of their cheap drinks and food specials. Always full of young people, with good music and huge tables to hang out all together! We already had a lot of fun in that place, as you can see in our Flicker page.

The Cambie

We already went many times to this place, located in Cambie Street. Perfect for students, big tables to hang out with all your friends, good music, the food is really good… and the pitchers over there are one of the cheapest that you can find in Downtown. In fact, the last time we went there, I found the following notice at the door:

I asked the gatekeeper if this was a joke. He looked at me with a very serious expression and he told me: “Of course not, girl, is The Law”. Ok, no more questions for the gatekeeper.

But today is not about beer (we already have too many posts about beer, I guess) is about food! You can eat until 6 PM!

The Metropole

We have our pub night today in this place! Today is hockey night, and they have a very good food deal: $ 6’49 Burger & Beer! Not bad! We will tell you more about this place tomorrow.

Everything on the menu is $4.95! We went there in our last pub night and I have to say that the food is delicious. You have a lot of options to choose: quinoa wraps, burgers, chicken wings, poutine… and the decoration is… curious.
