Back from our White water Rafting Trip, it’s time to celebrate Canada Day !!
July 1st, and it’s the 146th Anniversary of this amazing land. If you didn´t know, this national day it´s a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1st, 1867 (Constitution Act, 1867, which confederated the country of Canada).
You can find celebrations everywhere across the country for Canada Day, usually outdoor events, such as barbecues, parades, fireworks, free concerts, carnivals and different kind of shows.
Here is a few things you can do in Vancouver today:
Canada Day at Canada Place: The biggest birthday bash outside of Ottawa. 25 music and dance performances on three stages, extreme sports, street food and the Canada Day Parade.
- Waterfront Party: 10a.m.-6p.m.
- Canada Day Parade: 7p.m-8p.m. (Starting at Georgia and Broughton Streets)
Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks Show: One of the summers’ best fireworks shows. There is two bargers: one in Coal Harbour and one in Dundarave. Best viewing is from Canada Place or Coal Harbour Seawall.
- Visible from different locations throughout the city: 10.30 p.m. -11 p.m.
Canada Day on Grandville Island: As part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Fest, lots of free concerts will be staged at different stages throughout Grandville Island.
There is also a parade and face painting and roving clowns for kids.
- Grandville Island: Noon -9.30 p.m.
