PuB NiGHT Review: Portside Pub

Wednesday nights are our favourite one’s! Why? Because it is PuB NiGHT of course! Every week, we are meeting at another place in Vancouver to enjoy a fun evening together.

Yesterday, we were welcomed at the Portside Pub in Gastown. As the name might tell you already, this pub gives you the feeling of sitting in a cozy boat while drinking a beer and sailing on the big, wild sea. The chairs around our table were taken quickly, so it was time to share the newest stories about placements, work, future travel plans, the annoying roommate or the lovely host mom. It is always fascinating how much we actually have in common, even though we are all coming from different parts of the world.

After a while of chatting, the serious part of the night started: karaoke. The lyrics were projected on a big screen, so everyone could sing along with the brave person behind the microphone at the front of the pub. (So it was actually not that serious.) The star of the night: Julian who surprised the crowd with the song “To love somebody”. Wow, that was amazing!

The rest of the night passed by quickly with singing and dancing along to great performances. And one, maybe even two freshly tapped beers. However, at the end of the night we found ourselves not back on sea, but in beautiful Gastown. Luckily!

Keep your chins up, soon it will be weekend again! I hope to see you on Sunday for a tour behind the scenes at the Rogers Arena.

PuB NiGHT Review!

Yesterday we went to Blarney Stone, a classic Irish pub in Gastown, for our weekly pub night.

As soon as you step inside, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

The place and the service were really nice, and the drinks were not pricey (as I announced, $4 Pints, Highballs and shooters and $2 sliders) Not a bad deal, right?

By the way, I tried the sliders and yam fries and they were really tasty!

It was my first pub night with you guys and it was a really good one, not just because of the place but because of you all ! We were chatting and I could get to know some of you a lot better!

Now that the good weather is coming I encourage you to join us in our weekly pub nights ,have a few drinks and enjoy these beautiful and sunny days!

And don’t forget that if you are new in the city that’s the best way to meet awesome people !

I’m sure it’ll be totally worth it!

INTERNeX Canada: PuB Night Announcement!

 $4 pints, highballs and shooters and $2 sliders! How can you say no to these prices?

This Wednesday pub night (tomorrow night), we will be  gathering at the Blarney Stone, a nice Irish pub in Gastown. If you didn’t know this place is known as one of the top Irish pubs in Vancouver.

INTERNeX QuiZ NiGHT Review!

Yesterday we had our INTERNeX Quiz NiGHT at the Moose’s Down Under sponsored by Taxback.com! The night started at 8 pm, when slowly the candidates were coming into the bar. When everyone was there, we started to divide everyone into teams. All the teams had to come up with their own team name. My team name was for example: Denemex (Denmark, Netherlands and Mexico). When all the teams were ready we started the quiz! The first round was the picture round – we had a paper with famous people and we had to write down their names on the answer sheet. The second round was ‘general knowledge’. The third round was a movie round with only questions about well-known movies. Finally, the last round was all about music! The questions weren’t easy, but we were battling for an amazing price – 150 dollar bar tap!!

While the jury was counting the points, we were discussing all the questions and we having a nice chat with each other. After a few minutes they were ready to announce the winner! The winners of the $150 dollar bar tap are….. Christian, Bart, Roy and Elvera!! Congratulations to you all, you deserved to win with 43 points!

It was a really nice PuB NiGHT last night and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!! We will see everyone next Wednesday again :D. If you would like to see more pictures that were taken yesterday, go to our Flickr-account.

PuB NiGHT Review!

Hi everyone,

The PuB NiGHT was such a good night last night! Around 30 people came to the Blarney Stone to have a drink, meet new people or dance to Irish music. The two free pitchers were gone very quickly (of course) but because of the cheap deals from the Blarney Stone it was still a cheap night for everyone! There was also a live band playing in the Blarney Stone with Irish music. Normally, this is not really my kind of music, but last night I could totally dance to it. Many others were dancing to the Irish music and others were just having a chat with each other. After the PuB NiGHT some of the people went to a club together to party some more!
