INTERNeX Canada: How was you weekend?

The last Saturday we went to the Chinatown Night Market. It’s one of the open night markets which taken place in summer.

We met in Keefer St with Main St corner. I recommend choose other place if you are thinking in go with your friends. You can hear all the time a voice shouting, very loud, something like “Two t-shirts for 20$, everything must go, everything must go!” again and again. After 5 minutes you really want to learn Kung Fu.

You can buy artisanal goods, very cheap products (I’m not going to talk about the quality) and vintage clothes. There are also a lot of shops to buy handmade amulets, jade jewelry and massage stands. The Chinatown Market offers also a lot of free shows to see, like table tennis tournament, outdoor cinema, hip-hop karaoke, Street Fighter tournament, and much more. We could enjoy a Kung Fu demonstration and it was very exciting.

After the Kung Fu show, we went to a pub to drink something but we went back home soon, it was a long day.

THE WORST: Taking into account that the Vancouver Chinatown is the largest Chinatown neighbourhood in Canada, honestly, we expected something bigger.

THE BETTER:  The food, was really amazing.  It’s impossible don’t buy anything if you go there… so many delicious things that you can choose. We bought a strange roll made with fried potatoes and crepes with fruits and chocolate.

If you didn’t come, you have to join us the next weekend!

Cheers,

Clara.
