HIGHLIGHTS REVIEW 2015/16: December, January, February

We did some fun things the last couple of month! Christmas Season was packed with exciting activities around Vancouver. We visited the German Christmas Market, got to meet walking and talking ginger bread men while keeping us warm with some Gluehwein and Feuerzangenbowle. Cirque du Soleil was definitely Decembers highlight – Kooza is one incredible show. Acrobatic performances like the Wheel of Death or the Double Highwire mixed with the art of clowning and dancing kept
us gazing in wonder at those stunning performances all night. We celebrated the Winter Solstice at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden, which was filled with lanterns and ornaments. To nicely end Christmas and the holidays we went to Stanley Park to see the hundreds of colorful lights that lit up the Park and boosted our Christmas mood. Our visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge was the last event of 2015 walking from tree house to tree house.

In the first week of January we went Ice Skating at Robson Square. No one fell on their behind – except me. After a couple of rounds we warmed up with hot apple cider. The weekend after we had dinner at the legendary pizzeria Ludica. They have the tastiest pizza in Vancouver and even better – they have over 700 board games. We played Scotland Yard all night – Mr. X won the game. Last but not least we went on our amazing Whistler Trip at the end of the month. And I promise you, if you visit Whistler once, you want to go back. It is such an active and fun town with tons and tons of outdoor activities to do.

To watch the 50th SuperBowl we headed to Malone’s to start drinking at 3pm. For some the game itself wasn’t to exciting but the halftime show made up for it – and the alcohol. Th
e Nexis celebrated Chinese New Year on Valentines Weekend by watching the parade and by seeing China and Canada from above at FlyOverCanada. We are excited and looking forward to the hockey game next weekend – Canucks vs. Sharks – this is going to be a fun game.

Looking back, you realize time flies. I have been organizing events for INTERNeX for a couple of month now and spend six month in this wonderful country. I had an awesome time.Soon it is time for me to move on. I am so jealous that you all will stay a while longer getting to enjoy the summer in Vancouver – the beach, the ocean, barbequing, hiking and so much more.

INTERNeX Canada: Winter Wonderland in Toronto!

November is awesome. Why? It’s the time of the year when you are allowed to start getting excited for Christmas or whichever holiday you celebrate! You know when all the festive lights, snow and red Starbucks cups appear? Yes, this is it!

Winter in Toronto is very cold, but the holiday festivities that the city puts on make it such an exciting time and place to be.  The other good news is that it’s only November and the average temperate is about 7 degrees which is still nice enough for doing outdoor fall activities!

In downtown Toronto, Yonge Street is where all the winter activities can be seen! Looking for beautiful holiday lights? There will be a 40-foot sculptural light tree, 3D polar bears, reindeers and more! As well, the community has planned many events to celebrate the holiday season right in the heart of Toronto such as IlluminiteWindow WonderlandKidzfest, Buskertainment and Ice, Wine & Dine.

Today I will introduce you to the Winter Wonderland event that is going on until the end of this month! From November 1st you may have noticed that the window displays of about 30 businesses down Yonge Street have been a little more decorated than usual! It is because these businesses are competing with each other to create the most creative or eye-catching holiday windows.

Until the November 28th, you can vote for whichever window is your favorite at the website here! Best of all, this is completely FREE!

So grab your winter coats, walking boots and take a walk down this busy street or check out the other events going on!

Happy voting! The winner will be revealed at the Awards Ceremony on November 28th!

The INTERNeX 2010 Blog Preview – 4.Quarter

The last highlights of this year! Of course we have to mention the Vancouver Fashion Week. In October 2010 the Vancouver Fashion Week was almost there and INTERNeX gave a VIP-ticktet away!!! Get you golden ticket was the name of the blogpost! Melissa won the ticket and went to the event together with Tracy. Unfortunately I wasn’t here yet so I missed this great event but I’m glad that Melissa and Tracy had a great time.

And of course there was Halloween!  INTERNeX went to Fright Night. They went to some different scary places and they took some rides that were included. I think I’m too chicken for this kind of activities haha..

At the end of the year there was the Westcoast Christmas Show at the end of November 2010. With 1 month remaining before Christmas, the Westcoast Christmas Show’s timing was perfect for me (and maybe also for you) to experience the Christmas atmosphere.

December, the last month of the year, with a lot of Christmas activities. Check out the Lighting Winter Events in Vancouver ,the Capilano Suspension Bridge Xmas Light Tour or the Ice Magic Festival in Lake Loise. I tried to go to all of the events to get the Christmas feeling. Believe me, all the events were worth it!

And December was also the month that some INTERNeX candidates went to Whistler for a weekend. We had a great time. Curious? You can read here how it was.

The last quarter of the year we also introduced the picture of the week. See here wich INTERNeX candidates were selected. So take a lot of beautiful pictures and maybe you will be selected for picture of the week in 2011!

Last but not least, our interns! The persons who wrote all these blogs!

Marine, She finished her internship and after that the office seemed so empty!

Tiffany, With exams coming up, to her dismay, She was unable to continue her position as a PR Intern at INTERNeX.

Lauren, who helped allot to get the Blog to the next level.

Laura, Who moved from Ontario to Vancouver and did an awesome job at INTERNeX

Mette, Of course I’ve seen some work of her and I think she’s great and I think she did a lot for the company.

Manouk, The girl from The Netherlands who did a great job.

Hopefully, you all enjoyed our summary of the year 2010. I hope you all had a great year with a lot of memories! Have a great New Years Eve and I wish you a Happy New Year! I hope to see you all again in 2011. The next year will be of course also filled with a lot of events, trips and PuB NiGHTs!
