Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the whole INTERNeX Team! The office was closed during and in-between Christmas and New Years. Everyone from the INTERNeX team had an amazing Christmas and New Years Eve. We hope you did to!

Also the INTERNeX Family in Vancouver had a few great days together! They had dinner together on Christmas Eve, which I was not able to attend. But hearing the stories they had a great Danish Christmas Dinner and Secret Santa. This month there will be arriving lots of new candidates and we are really looking forward to welcoming all of them this month!

Also the PR-Team will get bigger this month! Three new PR-Coordinators will join our team and help with all the events and trips in the first half of the year! We will make 2017 a year full of events and trips!! And we will try to make 2017 as amazing as 2016!

Highlights of the Year 2016: October, November and December

Last but not least the fourth quarter of 2016. I hope you guys had as much fun as I had looking back on all the things we did!

October

October started of with a trip to the Vancouver Aquarium and a great Thanksgiving dinner at Ten Ten Tapas. We also had a lot of PuB NiGHTS organized. And a special night for Halloween.

October.jpgThe weekend trip of October was a trip to the Rocky Mountains. During this trip we went to the National Parks Jasper and Banff. We also went to Lake Louise, Mount Robson and Colombia Ice Field. We also enjoyed a night out in Banff and enjoyed a night at our Mountain View Cabins with a BBQ party around the bonfire. It was a great trip!

Also that weekend we went to Grouse Mountain for the ones that stayed in Vancouver. We did a great hike on the Grouse Grind and enjoyed the amazing view.

November

In November we started of with great PuB NiGHTs. We also went to CandyTown in November. It was raining a lot but still lots of fun to enjoy the Christmas spirit already!

In the last week of November a big group of Scandinavians were coming for a few days. The first day was full with orientations and of course a PuB NiGHT. The second day a Stanley Park Tour was planned. And on the last night we had a PuB NiGHT planned in the Blarney Stone. It was a great week!

December

December was filled with PuB NiGHTs. We had lots of fun at the Met and the Bimini.christmas

On the third Wednesday of December we had a Christmas Party. We first went out for dinner at the Spaghetti Factory, which was great! When we all finished our dinner, we started with Secret Santa, which was lots of fun too! After the dinner and Secret Santa some of us went to the Met to end the night with some karaoke!

A big thank you to Sara, Andreas and Janel for organizing the PuB NiGHTS, events and trips in these months!

We hope you all will have a great New Years Eve and an even greater 2017!

Review: Karaoke PuB NiGHT @ The Met

Last night was lots of fun! IMG_5773.JPGThank you all for coming to the Met yesterday! We had a great night! 🙂

The Met is a pub with all sorts of games. You can play pool, Ping-Pong, table football and lots of other small games. It is also a cheap place to have some drinks and food. And they have a karaoke night every Wednesday.

The karaoke only starts at half past nine, so in the beginning of the evening we played some pool and Ping-Pong and had a nice chat with each other. Then finally the karaoke started and we started of with a great Christmas song ‘Last Christmas’ from Wham!. After that everybody wrote down more songs to sing solos, duets or as a group. More Christmas songs came along as well as well-known songs like for example ‘Breakeven’ from The Script. It was also really nice to listen to all the other people in the pub, which were singing songs. And lastly we had time to write on each other’s Canadian flags.

IMG_5774.JPGI hope you all had as much fun as I did and I hope to see you all again on the next PuB NiGHT! And don’t forget to sign up for the Christmas Dinner!!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND? – CRISTMAS DINNER & SECRET SANTA

Guess what we did last the weekend? The headline is actually already revealing about what we did, right?! IMG_3342Yeees; since it was my last weekend we had a Christmas Dinner in The Old Spaghetti Factory in the heart of Gastown in association with doing Secret Santa. It was so much fun!
Especially after unwrapping the gifts everyone was even more intended on a certain gift.

Okay … First of all I should probably explain the rules. We used dice for exchanging our presents and every ‘dice-number’ had it’s own rule, for instance when you diced #1 everyone had to pass his/her gift to his/her right. That was one of the easier/more boring rules but of course we also had rules, which made the game pretty thrilling. #5 for example: IMG_3338the person who diced could exchange all the presents, which means that you maybe already had your favourite gift but then you ‘lost’ your present. We played 3 rounds with wrapped presents and then another 2 with unwrapped ones. And as I already said: As soon as all presents were unwrapped everyone already had an eye on his/her favourite one and wanted to get that particular gift or wished that he/she wouldn’t get a certain gift … 😀

After the dinner we headed to The Cambie because one of my roommate had her bye-bye party there. Unfortunately the lineup was so long that we decided to go to another pub. Nevertheless we spent a very nice evening at the Steamworks Brew Pub until they closed.

On Sunday we certainly didn’t miss the chance attending at the annual Santa Claus Parade. Even though it was rainy and cold it seemed like all the volunteers and participants had a lot of fun entertaining all the spectators.

The Parade has more than 3,500 participants, over 400 volunteers and attracts around 300,000 spectators to downtown Vancouver every year. More than 60 marching bands, choirs, festive floats, and community groups featured this year’s parade. It’s also one of the largest food and fund raising events for the Food Bank. Since 2004, the Parade has collected $141,800 even though they don’t charge you any admission fee. In my opinion that’s quite impressive, don’t you think?

Goodbye/Christmas dinner

Hi everybody! Soon I’ll finish my work here at INTERNeX, and I would really like to see you guys before I head back to Denmark. So, let’s meet up at Bismarck at 7pm, Friday, December 12. At Bismarck they will prepare a special dinner just for us. The price will be in the area of $20 that includes food and one drink. I’ve really enjoyed my time here in Vancouver, and I want to finish off together with all of you who made my stay in Canada unforgettable.

You can sign up for this event here.
