January isn’t exactly the most exciting month. We’re all tired from the Christmas festivities and broke from it. We’ve come to the rescue on how to beat the January blues. And, these activities won’t break the bank!
Project Barca
Let’s do something different this weekend by watching a dance performance with the INTERNeX crew. I think its safe to say that most of us are trying to discover ourselves and find adventures at our age. With the theme “Going ‘West’ to find the ‘East’/ Going ‘East’ to find the ‘West’, Project Barca talks about the idea of self-discovery through dancing.
- When? Sunday, January 12th @ 8PM
- Where? Fei & Milton Wong Experimental Theatre, Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 West Hastings Street)

Snowshoeing
Don’t know how to ski or snowboard, but would like to hit up the slopes? Snowshoeing is a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Vancouver has to offer and it is a great workout. Plus, its easy, if you know how to walk, you know how to snowshoe. It isn’t too pricey either. It costs $27 for rentals and pass at Seymour and $26 at Cypress.
The weather is beautiful this weekend, so get out there!
Vancouver Comic Con
Do you love to geek out with the Avengers or the Justice league? Then, Vancouver’s very own Comic Con is perfect for you. If you bring a new or gently used graphic novel, then admission is FREE and it will be donated to various Vancouver schools. There will be prizes and special guests including Shaun Knowler, the artist and writer of (one of my favourite comics) Transformers.
- When? Sunday, January 13th @11am to 5pm
- Where? Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street Vancouver

Happy weekend!
Cheers,
