Goodbye my friends! My internships ends..

Hi everyone! Today is my last day at INTERNeX, I’m finishing my internship today. I still remember my first day, November 15, 2010. I got a warm welcome from the great INTERNeX team. As a Public Relations intern I was ready for my adventure and hoping to learn as much as possible. First of all, I started the PuB NiGHTs with around 5 people and little by little it got more busy and sometimes we were with around 40 people. Thank you all great candidates for making the PuB NiGHTs such a success!

I love organzing trips & events and to meet a lot of new people from different cultures, one of the reasons why I love the internship at INTERNeX. The St. patrick’s Day Club Crawl, Trivia nights, Club nights and the Lucky Karaoke Party are things I definitely need to mention, it was all amazing!

One of the highlights was definitely the trip to Whistler and the trip to the Rocky Mountains! It’s funny that everybody is still talking about what a blast we had. For people who just arrived, believe me the new interns will for sure organize great trips and events for you as well.

Beside the fact that I had to deal with all the INTERNeX candidates, I also had to deal with clients and partners. Organizing the INTERNeX Networking Reception in occasion of the NAFSA Conference was like a dream come true and I definitely learned a lot from it. Thanks to INTERNeX for giving me this chance and thanks to the lovely other interns for making this a success together.

INTERNeX is a perfect place to learn a lot in a great work atmosphere! I will miss it! For me it’s time to go now, I will still be in Canada for three weeks. Seattle, Tofino and The Rocky Mountains (again) are waiting for me :D.

Thanks everyone for making my time in Vancouver and at INTERNeX unforgettable!

Love,

Elvera

Picture of the week!

This week’s picture of the week is from the INTERNeX Networking Event that took place on the 1st of June due to the big NAFSA conference here in Vancouver. The event was a great success and we hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. Again, thank you all for coming to our INTERNeX Reception!
However there are also some other people that deserve a thank you! A few of the INTERNeX candidates helped us out with volunteering for the INTERNeX Networking Reception and we would really like to thank these candidates again, so thank you: Regula, Matthijs, Kathryn, Matt, Arne, Timo and Oscar!!

At the event we had a photo booth where people could take pictures of them with their friends. All the pictures are online, if you would like to see them click here. I picked this photo to be the picture of the week because we are really thankful for all the help we got from our volunteers! Thanks for helping us make the night as it was; perfect!

Cheers,
Claudia

INTERNeX NAFSA Reception (Class of 2011) – Thank you all for coming!

Yesterday the International Networking Event from INTERNeX took place at the Blarney Stone in Vancouver, Canada. It started at 8 pm and we stayed until late. Some of the guests were there earlier to watch the Vancouver Canucks vs Boston playing in first game of the Stanley Cup Finals. Because of the game there was already a great atmosphere before the event even started.

We had volunteers greeting our guests at the entrance and if you preregistered, you got a badge with your own name and personal QR-code. After that you were ready to go to our Photobooth, here we took photos for the INTERNeX Class of 2011 Yearbook, which will be online soon!

We had an Irish band, a great DJ, a host and showmaster to entertain everybody the whole evening. We also organized a Schoolbus to bring people from several place to our event. After all we had a great evening and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Thank you all for coming!

Photos will be published soon at the INTERNeX Flickr Page.

Regards,

The INTERNeX Team

INTERNeX PuB NiGHT Announcement

Hi everybody! Hope you enjoyed the nice weather last weekend. Some of you may know that this Wednesday the INTERNeX Networking Reception will take place. It is for our partners and people who are attending the Annual NAFSA Conference. The INTERNeX PR-team is working hard to get everything perfect for this event.

Unfortenately because of this event there won’t be an INTERNeX PuB NiGHT this Wednesday. Of course we will make it up to you to by making the next INTERNeX PuB NiGHT (next week, 8th of June) extra awesome. We will arrange some prizes. It will be Elvera’s last PuB NiGHT, so a real party!

Cheers,

Your PR-team

INTERNeX Class of 2011 – Must See Vancouver

The Annual NAFSA Conference is almost starting! Maybe you just arrived in Vancouver or you’re on your way but do you already know how to explore the city? We made a list of the Must See’s in Vancouver!

Grouse Mountain
Grouse Mountain is located only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver and truly is the marriage of wildlife and civilization. In case you take the courage and go up there what I definitely would suggest, you have to experience “the eye” – the jaw dropping 360 degree view from the world’s first wind turbine with a viewing platform on the top, which is accessible by an elevator. So do not forget your camera!

The Vancouver Aquarium in Stanly Park
In total you can experience more than 70.000 captivating creatures in Vancouver’s unparalleled Aquarium.
Enjoy dolphin and beluga whale shows in the huge outside aquariums and immerge yourself into the indoor world of Vancouver Aquarium. The Vancouver Aquarium is daily open from 9.30 am until 5 pm in the evening.

Stanley Park Horse–Drawn Tours
Have you ever been to Stanley Park and wanted to experience the park in a rather fast and comfortable way?
Stanley Park Horse – Drawn Tours are the excellent opportunity to do so. During the tour you will sit in one of these old-fashioned horse–drawn vehicles and experiences the beauty of whole Stanley Park, the number 1 attraction in Vancouver!

The Capilano Suspension bridge
This bridge is 70 meter above and 140 meter across the Capilano river in north Vancouver.Various other exciting things can be experienced around the Capilano river. 7 other suspension bridges will give you the opportunity to experience one of the oldest forests around the Vancouver region. More information can be found under capbridge.com
Harbor cruise & events
Do you want to experience Vancouver from the water? Harbor Cruises is the perfect company for that. They are the leading boat, sightseeing company in Vancouver. The company provides unparalleled views of Vancouver and offers a unique way to experience the city.

The Vancouver Lookout!
Enjoy the spectacular 360 degree view of  the most beautiful city in the world.
Go up in one of the two glass elevators and get ready for the lookout platform 130 meter high above the sea level. The view is incredible! Admission for adults is $15.

Vancouver Art Gallery
The Vancouver Art Gallery presents ever-changing world-class exhibitions, from historic masters to today’s most internationally acclaimed contemporary artists. The building also hosts collections of paintings from the beloved British Columbia artist Emily Carr.

Hell’s Gate Airtram
Vancouver’s last  “Must See Spot” is an attraction for all outdoor fans which like to immerge in the nature around Vancouver and who want to experience the freedom Canada has to offer. I am talking about the Hell’s Gate Airtram in the scenic Fraser Canyon. The Fraser Canyon is located in the heart of British Columbia and is accessible through a scenic route through the B.C. Mountains and 7 huge mountain tunnels.
Already the drive to the Canyon itself is a great adventure. Several different landscapes and a vivid wildlife can be found and experienced on your way to Hell’s Gate Airtram. Once you arrived at the top rim of the Canyon, at the observation deck, you will have an amazing view all over the Canyon and the masses of water that are floating down the Canyon!

But most of all, don’t forget to visit the incredible INTERNeX Networking Reception the 1st of June in the Blarney Stone!

If you want more information about these Must See’s, don’t hesitate to leave a comment with your questions!
