Halloween Party @ Blarney Stone

Only two and a half weeks left and Halloween will be here.

We’ve decided to go for the Halloween party at Blarney Stone. Here you’ll only have to pay 10$ for the entrance, and that includes 5% GST (taxes)! So now you’ll have more money for a cool costume + drinks at Blarney Stone.

Consider this as a sign up sheet. When you sign up here on this Facebook event page you’re automatically agreeing to pay the 10$ entrance fee. There’ll be 5$ pints of Budweiser and 5$ high-balls on special. During the night there will be a live band and DJ playing, and there will be cool prizes for the best costumes. Tickets will be sold fast, so those who sign up first will be those who are going to the party. But don’t pay yet. We’ll keep you updated on the time of payment. So keep an eye on this Facebook Halloween event page.

We’ll meet in front of Blarney Stone at 7pm… right, it’s a bit early but this will secure us the 10$ entrance tickets and then we can skip the long line up at the entrance! Remember to bring 2 pieces of ID. In order to be let in we have to show up as a group, so please be at the front entrance on time. Unfortunately only people at the age of 19 or above will be let in.

You can take a closer look at the general prices for drinks here and ave a look at some pictures from the last year here.

Don’t forget to sign up for this amazing event.

Halloween Shopping

Since you hopefully all survived the plenty of turkey this weekend, it’s time to prepare you for a big Halloween party. Only three more weeks left till this amazing event.
So let’s get ready for Halloween by shopping some crazy and fancy Halloween costumes next Saturday, October 18.
At the BooLaLa you’ll be able to buy and also to rent costumes. So you don’t have to buy, if  you don’t have enough space in your luggage left. But if I think about it….. it would be pretty cool to wear the costume while arriving back home and to scare your family and friends. UHAHAHAHA…..
We’ll meet up at 3 pm in front of BooLaLa on Saturday. BooLaLa is located in North-Vancouver, only 11 minutes from the seabus station by foot. Click here for the map.
North-Vancouver is part of zone 2, but no worries at the weekend and on weekdays after 6:30 pm you’re also able to go there with a zone 1 ticket.
If you would like to have a look at the costumes BooLala offers, click here.
Join the event here.

Let’s get in a terrifying Halloween mood by shopping some costumes on Saturday.
Hope to see many of you there.

INTERNeX Canada: Smart Saver Vancouver – Halloween Costumes!

There are only 6 more days til’ Halloween, have you got your costume to wear to our Halloween party at The Blarney Stone yet? Don’t stress out, we’ve found some places you may want to visit for that last minute shopping. Best of all, they offer a wide range of costumes and costume supplies that are very affordable.

1. Value Villages or Thrift Stores

This is my first pick because Value Villages or thrift stores all have different items so you should try to go to as many stores as possible. You never know what you might find because the stores tend to get “new” previously owned clothes every day. Most of the used costumes look brand new because most people wear it just once and then give it away, and you will get it at a much cheaper price!

Value Village: 1820 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC (604) 254-4282
or 6415 Victoria Drive, Vancouver, BC 604-327-4434

2. Dressew Supply

This second option might not be so obvious, as it is usually a fabric store, but Dressew is definitely the place to go for that last minute costume. You might even be overwhelmed by the countless props, accessories, wigs and costumes to choose from. Since this is a fabric store, you can make a costume out of fabric if you are the creative type or add missing pieces to the costume you already have.

337 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC (604) 682-6196

3. Dollar Stores

Dollar Stores is the cheapest place and has the biggest selection for Halloween makeup and accessories. For that fake blood, glow-in-the-dark stuff and white and black makeup, this is the place to go.

Dollarama: 668 Seymour St Vancouver, BC (604) 662-7543
Your dollar store with more: 1067 Hamilton Street Vancouver, BC (604) 669-6031

To end off, here are some tips for costume shopping:

  • Set a budget and decide how much you want to spend on a costume.
  • Combine new and used items and things you already own.
  • Don’t just look at the costume department; you never know what you might find in parts of a store.
  • Bring a picture for inspiration so you won’t forget the details when shopping.

Happy last minute Halloween shopping!

Cheers,

Queenie

VANCOUVER’S FASHION WEEK

Did you watch Entertainment Tonight Canada yesterday? Because I got to catch an interview with the person behind Vancouver Fashion’s Week—Jamal Abdourahman.  He started Vancouver Fashion Week from 2001, and his many innovative and creative ideas have made each event more and more successful.

So…we are going to give away a ticket, and yours truly (Tracy) will be your personal escort to the Vancouver Fashion Week.  We will look at all the inner workings and the dazzling outfits that designers come up with.
