Hanging out with a friend? Craving some fast food? Also want to save a buck or two? Keep on reading, because this might be interesting for you. There are some buy-one-get-one free deals going on in Vancouver this weekend.

Pizza Hut has a buy-one-get-one free deal on their regular pizzas. When you order two pizzas from their website for delivery, you have to enter the code 879 at the checkout, and you will get the second pizza, of the same or lesser value, for free. This offer ends on Sunday.

Angus T is a bakery located in Yaletown. On Saturday starting from 10 am, they will offer a buy-one-get-free deal on their croissants and cinnamon buns, as long as their supply lasts. Go check them out and make your Saturday a bit sweeter.

Still thirsty? Comebuy Bubble Tea will offer a buy-one-get-one free deal on their drinks as well this Friday and Saturday. The chain has stores in Crystal Mall, Kerrisdale and Downtown Vancouver. So get a Bubble Tea with a friend and enjoy the lovely weather.

Is it difficult for you to get used to the high amount of money you have to pay whenever you go grocery shopping? Are you scared to look at your bank account because you lost track of how much money you’ve spent? Or are you OK, but you would like to save money anyway? Then continue reading! Just for you, we have found two useful apps to download that will help you get the most out of your money.

Checkout 51: Checkout 51 is an app that provides free discounts on selected items. The only thing you have to do is create an account and you will find the discounts of the week. Then, you just have to buy the item at any supermarket or drug store, take a receipt with you and scan it onto the app. Easy peasy. The amount of discount you receive depends on the price of the product itself. You might get $1 discount on various types of food, but $5 on alcoholic beverages, such as vodka and whisky (they are actually on offer right now, so this is your chance to download the app!). The app is available for IOS (8 and higher) and Android and there is Checkout 51 website as well.

Ebates: To the ones who enjoy online shopping on their days off, I got you! Just create an account on Ebates and select the website where you would like to do some shopping. Then, you’ll be redirected to that site and once you have ordered an item, you will earn a percentage of your money back within a few months. It might take a while, but look at it this way: soon you’ll forget about it and when the money you earned back is in your account, it will be a surprise! The percentage you will receive back depends on the shop, but even if you only save 5%, it’s better than none and in expensive Vancouver, every loony counts!

Dear ski and snowboard fans, April is just about to start which means that the winter sports season is nearly over… So, take the last chances to grab your skis or your snowboard and hit the slopes. Since a day on the mountain can be quite expensive, here are some tips and tricks to save some money.

Before you take the gondola up the mountain, it is worth checking the website Liftopia.com. There is often a broad range of offers for discounted lift tickets, if you buy them in advance. Sometimes, there are even great discounts that include rentals already. Another website that has some good offers is Groupon.com. Currently, you can score a deal for rentals on Grouse Mountain, for example.

Mount Seymour is offering a special offer called ‘Carload Wednesday’. You can ski on Wednesday nights for only $99 per car. So, if five people fit in the car, you only pay less than $20 per person for the lift ticket. Hiring a car is not that expensive in Vancouver, so if you gather some people, it can be totally worth it! No panic for those without a driver’s license: you can check out the Facebook group ‘Seymour Mountain Rideshare’ where people are offering rides for a small fee.

If you want to head to Cypress Mountain, which is my personal favourite by the way, you can take a shuttle bus from downtown for only $20 (students) or $22 (adults) for a round trip. The bus takes you directly to the ski resort, very convenient!

A must-do trip for all skiing fans is of course the famous resort Blackcomb in Whistler. Here, it is worth it to buy a lift ticket beforehand online via their website whistlerblackcomb.com. You can save the most if you purchase the tickets more than a week in advance. So, plan ahead and score a good deal!

Last but not least, it is also worth it to check out shops that offer winter sports supply. At the end of the season, many clothes and skiing supplies are on discounted sale now. This is your chance to already get new gear for the next season!

Dinner here, a drink there, … The money in my wallet just keeps disappearing. Yours too? Staying at home and eating boring microwave meals instead? No, Vancouver has too much to offer and that is why I have some awesome deals for you here!

Several websites offer temporary deals for dinner in Vancouver. The Red Flag Deals offers mainly fast food deals for the known chains, such as Pizza Hut, KFC, A&W or Tim Hortons. You might think it is already cheap, but why not saving more when it is that easy?!

Groupon is another website for deals. At the moment, you can buy a voucher for two fatburgers with fries for only $16 instead of $25. Groupon offers even more than food deals, such as discounted tickets. Check out their website and score a good deal!

Now, let’s have a look at the website Socialshopper. Currently, they offer a fancy cup sushi and burritos for two people for only $15. Not only does Socialshoppper offer discounts in the category food, but also in others and some are even valid in other cities than Vancouver.

Last, but not least, there is our well-known pub The Met at 320 Abbott Street, for the most of you known as “the karaoke bar”. The happy hours are daily from 7-10pm and late night when you can get a tall can of beer for $3.69 or wine and shots for only $3.

It’s only a few days away from Christmas, which means that most of the people will be doing a lot of Christmas shopping right now! But wait there is something much better….. It is the Boxing Day Sales!! Keep on reading to find out how you can save money on some really cool things!

Boxing day is primarily known as a shopping holiday in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and it’s much like Black Friday in the United States. On this day different kinds of shops will hold sales, often with dramatic price reductions. So to give you a good impression on what kind of deals there are going on right now, here you will find a list of stores that are having Boxing Day sales.

Best Buy

Best Buy is a store where you can buy all kinds of electronics, appliances and more. During Boxing Day, Best Buy will possibly have some really good deals when it comes to cameras, phones, laptops and much more!

Hudson Bay

Also one of the biggest department stores will have some online and offline Boxing Day Sales. At Hudson Bay you can buy a lot of different things like for example clothing, beauty products, jewellery & accessories, toys and much more. Most of the brands that Hudson Bay is selling are pretty expensive so definitely worth to check this one out if you can maybe find a good deal on that watch that you have always wanted!

Costco

Costco is a big warehouse where you can buy a lot of different things from food to mobiles. The products sold at Costco all come in big bulks since most of the people who shop there own a store or something like that. Costco will have a Boxing week savings beginning on December 26th. Unfortunately you can only visit Costco if you have a membership card.

Also checks out the other department stores like pacific centre and metro town. A lot of shops are located there and will probably have some good deals.
