Heeey everybody!! It’s time for Smart Saver, and as you know that means saving money. But of course you don’t won’t to spend too much time looking for good deals. We’ll get you started.

Very soon the winter is here, and winter means snow. Well, usually not so much in snow in downtown Vancouver but there’s several other good mountain resorts in British Columbia. Check out Silver Star Holidays for a pretty nice deal that includes Free Skiing, as long as you book your accommodation through Silver Star Holidays. Click here to check out the location of the Silver Star Resort. Extend your weekend and go together with a group of friends to get the best deals. Of course you don’t necessarily have to travel far away from Vancouver to experience the great powder. It shouldn’t be long before you’ll be able to do some skiing on Grouse Mountain. Here you can ski a full day for just $58.

… Or maybe you just want to get some nice food. Luckily you don’t have to search for long to find delicious and affordable food in Vancouver. Check out some of the very nice Korean places on Robson Street or Denman Street. Try out hot pots, chicken and pork soups and much more for prices of just $10-$12. Check out all the nice food here.

Have a nice week, and get out there and save some money!

Smart Saver

It’s smart saver Sunday again. So time to safe some money.

The last North Vancouver Night Market this year is the best opportunity to safe some money. The Market takes place form 5 to 10 pm on Friday nights from May 2 to September 26.  So unfortunately next Friday is the last chance for a visit. The Market offers 15 food tracks, 100 vendors and a beer garden.  On the Shipbuilders Stage you can listen to live music until 10 pm and the admission to get in is totally free. Over 80 tents are filled with local products, showcasing BC’s artisans, bakers and farmers. The location of the market makes this the perfect destination to relax at the Pier, catch nice views over the city, eat and be entertained.
The North Vancouver Night Market is placed just east of the Lonsdale Quay Seabus terminal.

If you’re really really hungry, it’s time to go to the RIO. It’s a Brazilian Steak House and you can get there a real Brazilian BBQ with all you can eat for only $15. They offers a great variety of different kinds of meat, such as Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Pork and Fish. You can eat as much as you can. You can get the side dishes from a great buffet with salad, french fries and different other Brazilian delicacies, which you’re welcome to serve yourself as much as you please.
Rio is located Denman Street.

Hope all of you had a great weekend, enjoy the rest of your Sunday and safe some money.

Smart Saver

It’s Sunday again and time for Smart Saver. This time we have a suggestion for a fun and cheap way of discovering places of Vancouver that you might not have thought of going. But no worries it’s totally safe. It’s called geocaching and is a form of treasure hunt where you have to track and find small containers situated around the city. In the small containers you might find a great treasure as well, who knows. Geocaching is a phenomenon that has gained in popularity, and a fun way to discover secret gems of Vancouver. It’s, easy and for free! You can use your mobile or a GPS for this activity. So what are you waiting for? Join the fun and explore Vancouver in a new and different way! Click here for more information on how to join this activity.

After an exciting treasure hunt you might find yourself a bit hungry but you don’t want to spend all of your savings on just one meal. No worries. Just walk to the Babylon Cafe at 1156 Denman Street. Here you’ll be able to get the most delicious shawarma wraps that will definitely satisfy your hunger. All you need to pay is 5-7$.

INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

Another monday, and another started week. I hope your weekend was awesome.

This Sunday, we wanted to hike out. The Grouse Mountain was the chosen place.

We wanted to go so bad, but unfortunately at around 8:00 a.m. started raining cats and dogs, and we had to postpone because we were afraid of a terrible rain during our hiking.

So we decided to go for lunch at  Tampopo, a “all you can eat” sushi restaurant in Denman Street, quite close to English Bay. It was an amazing lunch with wonderful views. The restaurant was located in a 2nd floor and we could see the ocean from there.

The weather changed and it turned into a sunny and wonderful day. So after our lunch, we decided to go to English bay and in our way we stopped to buy ice-creams and some frapuccinos.

It was full of people enjoying the nice weather, and we could talk and lie in the grass. We enjoyed the sun and the company. It was a very nice day.

I should admit i think I won’t be able to understand the weather in Vancouver: It rains during an hour, and suddenly the sky clears up and you can enjoy the beach. It’s amazing, isn’t it ??

Next time, I’ll hike the Grouse mountain whether it’s raining or not, because Van is unpredictable.

Best,

Mercedes
