Experience IT Review – Celebration of Lights

This weekend we had a relaxing beach day, barbecue and watched the Honda Celebration of Lights. Thank you all for coming!

We first met up on Jericho Beach at 4 PM to enjoy the sun and relax a little. Jericho is the perfect spot for that as it is way less busy than the beaches closer to downtown. Some of us had a big party the night before so they got some sleep on the beach.IMG_6432

After the beach we went to a private location to do the barbecue. We wanted to do it at the beach but unfortunately we only had a coal barbecue, which are currently not allowed due to the wildfires. Luckily we found another place to do it and although some preferred other food then the barbecue, it was still fun to eat together.

When it started to get dark it was time to go back down to Jericho Beach to watch the fireworks, but first we got to watch a really pretty sunset. The Honda Celebration of Lights is a yearly event. Three countries compete in the firework competition and on Saturday it was Japans turn. The fireworks started at 10 PM and lasted about 25 minutes, it was so pretty and mesmerizing to watch.

I hope to see you all on PuB NiGHT!

Experience IT Review – Vancouver Jazz Festival

On Saturday we had a great day in the sun at the Vancouver Jazz Festival and on English Bay Beach!IMG_4332.jpg

We met in front of the London Drugs on Georgia Street and when everyone arrived we decided to get some lunch first. So we went to the Pacific Centre, where there was a stand with people holding a canoe over their head and taking pictures. So we decided we wanted one too and ended up looking very Canadian.

After we got our lunch in the Pacific Centre food court we went to the Vancouver Jazz Festival. This festival takes place every year with venues all over town and this weekend there was a free event at Robson and Georgia. We went there, sat down in the sun and listened to the music.

After a while we were all really hot from sitting in the sun so we decided to go to English Bay Beach to enjoy the rest of our day. We all got matching beach towels at Dollarama and relaxed in the sun.

Thank you all for coming and I hope to see you all at PuB NiGHT!

Experience IT Review – Deep Cove

Yesterday we went to Deep Cove to do a hike. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t too great, but we still had fun. Thank you all for joining us!19251366_10203223732749896_649629841_n

All weekend the weather forecast told us it would stay dry on Sunday, right up to the point we got out of the bus at Deep Cove. Our meeting point was Honey’s Donuts, where some of us started with getting breakfast or lunch. When everyone arrived in Deep Cove we made our way to the Baden Powell trail that takes you up to Quarry Rock.

When we got to the trail we quickly saw that we had to walk up a lot of stairs, which wasn’t that easy for everyone. Some of you proved to have an excellent condition, while some of us realized that we might have to work out a little more (mostly talking about myself). So we put on some motivational music to keep us going.

Luckily the trail isn’t too hard, so after about an hour we reached Quarry Rock, where you’re supposed to have this amazing view… Unfortunately the fog was covering most of that for us, but we got a good laugh out of it. After taking pictures we made our way down again and took the bus back to Vancouver.

Thanks for coming out with us and I hope to see you all on PuB NiGHT!

Experience IT Review – Richmond Night Market

Last weekend we went to the Richmond Night Market! It was so much fun with all of you! Thank you for coming!

The Richmond Night Market is the biggest night market in North America and it has over 500 food choices from around the world. There are also live performances, over 200 retail stalls and carnival games. It is also really close to the Bridgeport skytrain station, which makes it easy to access the market.

18983320_10158688375850231_1698533783_n.jpgWe all met at the skytrain station and walked to the market together. When we got there we had two options. The first one was to stand in line for 45 minutes and the second one was to get one ticket for 7 people and then we could skip the line. We were with 10 people so we had to get 4 more random people from the crowd to get 2 of them. This worked after asking a few people, so we luckily did not have to wait in line.

When we finally got inside we started walking to the food stands as everyone got a little hungry. There was so much choice and everybody ate something and some even tried some special treats, like deep fried mars bars, Doritos deep fried mozzarella sticks and drinks in lightbulbs as glasses. There was a lot of food that you always see on Facebook or Instagram, which was also really cool to see. After eating lots of food we strolled around the retail stands and the carnival games. It was so much fun to see people play the games and some of us tried out the mechanical bull.

I had lots of fun with you guys! I hope to see you guys on PuB NiGHT!

Experience IT Review – Lighthouse Park

Last weekend we went to Lighthouse Park! It was really beautiful and great to explore the park with you guys! Thank you!

Lighthouse Park is a park in West Vancouver. It is one of the most amazing scenic parks on the West Coast. There are lots of douglas firs and you can stand next to those giant trees. You can hike on lots of trails in the park and there are lots of amazing viewing points.

18361253_10209461065385627_85185842_n.jpgWe first started walking on one of the trails and got to a viewing point that showed us the sea and behind that the skyline of Vancouver. It was really amazing to see. Then we went to the lighthouse viewing point where we sat down. We had some lunch and enjoyed the great weather. After that we went on another trail trying to get closer to the lighthouse. We couldn’t get closer, but we did find a viewing point where we could see the whole lighthouse! We went on an adventure on the big rocks that were there and made some amazing pictures.

After 3 hours in the park we took the bus to Horseshoe Bay to get a coffee at Starbucks and enjoy the sun and view there.

I had an amazing day with all of you!! Hope to see you on the next PuB NiGHT!
