INTERNeX Canada: PuB & CLuB NiGHT Announcement

This weekend, we will have our legendary pub & club night ! If you don’t know about what I’m talking, once a month, we meet on Friday night instead of Wednesday evening for a few drinks, and tons of fun. So join us to enjoy a really nice evening with the INTERNeX community in one of the most famous bars of Vancouver.

The chosen place this time is The Cambie, the best place in Downtown to save some money because of their cheap drinks and food specials. Always full of young people, with good music and huge tables to hang out all together! We already had a lot of fun in that place, as you can see in our Flicker page.

The special offers that they have for this Friday are:

–      $4.00 Kokanee pint

–      $12.00 Kokanee jug

–      $4.25 Moosehead bottles

WHEN: Friday October 4th  at 8:30 PM

WHERE: The Cambie Pub, 300 Cambie St. MAP

Remember that they don’t make reservations, so you don’t have to ask for us at the door, only look for a bunch of beautiful people! And please join us in the https://www.facebook.com/events/458166407633302/.

Only over 19 people

Please don’t forget two pieces of ID

Take care,

Clara.

INTERNeX Canada: PuB NiGHT review – Cinema Public House

It has long become a weekly ritual and we all love INTERNeX Pub NiGHTs every Wednesday somewhere in beautiful Vancouver. From rustic pubs to cosy bars or stylish lounges – we literally hang out everywhere and pick different locations every week! Last night, we gathered right downtown at Cinema Public House, a rather chic but chill pub at Granville and Smithe St. 19 people showed up in total, which must be due to the many ‘new arrivals’ from Germany and Norway as well as a bunch of friends who have become part of the crew over the last events and trips. So welcome to the newcomers – we hope to see you every week from now on! 🙂

Check out the pictures on facebook and Flickr.

Oh and many people asked me about the Rockies trip last night. Please find ALL information on the West Trek Website but don’t forget to sign up on our facebook event page so that you take advantage of the INTERNeX discount for our candidates ($315 instead of regular $335). If you have friends you want to bring along, please feel free to do so!! It even saves you another 5 bucks! 😉 In case you still have any specific questions, please feel free to ask the PR team!

Take care and see you soon!

INTERNeX Canada: DiAMoND JuBILEe PuB NiGHT Review

Last night we had another successful pub night with around 25 people showing up to join in on the celebrations of last weekend. This was INTERNeX’s first time at the Winking Judge Pub and we were impressed by the great atmosphere and cosiness of the place. INTERNeX had the back room booked for the entire group, but even that got pretty crowded with the amount of people we were.

There were a lot of new faces at the pub night as well, which was great! We hope you guys were able to make some new friends and I’m sure we’ll see you at the next pub night! Even some old faces made an appearance, which was quite a surprise. One of our old candidates from 2009, Chris, was there to have a few drinks with the new INTERNeX crew.

We all said our goodbyes to some of our INTERNeX Candidates as well, which was a little sad, but we wish them the best of luck with their future endeavors and we hope your time in Vancouver was unforgettable.

Thank you everyone for coming and keep an eye out on our Facebook page and blog for next week’s pub night announcement.

If you would like to see more pictures from last night, please visit our flickr page.

Cheers,

Lies

PuB NiGHT Cinqo de Mayo – Review!

Yesterday we had a real Mexican fiesta at the Blarney Stone – Cinqo de Mayo! The first part of the Mexican party was a bit more Canadian since we were watching the ice hockey game together! Of course the Canucks won, GO CANUCKS GO!!! After the game they cleared the dance floor, so people could dance on the typical Mexican music played by the Mexican Mariachi Band ‘’Los Dorados’’. One of our Mexican candidates requested a song and they only wanted to play it on one condition – that we had to dance!! So, many of our candidates got their ‘’Mexico on’’ on the dance floor! Arrrriiibaa!!

We were sitting on a really long table in the back of the Blarney Stone, because we were with so many people, which is absolutely awesome!! Everyone got a ticket from the PR-team to get a free tequila shot at the bar! We were having a really good time; enjoying the live music and having a nice chat with each other.  Once again, it was a successful PuB NiGHT! If you would like to see all the pictures that were taken last night, go to our Flickr account. 😀

Thanks for coming everyone and we hope to see you next PuB NiGHT again!!

Cheers,

Your PR-team

The weekend trip to whistler was amazing!

Last weekend some INTERNeX candidates and I went to Whistler with our friends from West Trek! It was a crazy weekend!

On Saturday we went skiing and snowboarding and after that we relaxed in the hot tub and swimming pool, this was certainly one of the highlights! We ordered some pizza’s (which eventually turned out to be $140!) and went to the club. We had a great time!

The second day we did some sightseeing and went to the lake. To finish this great trip we had lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory.

I will gather all the pictures of everyone and then upload it to our flickr site

Thanks to everyone who joined this trip and made it to a success!
(Especially Jackie, Tim, Pas-cal, Sara, Adam and of course West trek)

I say, a little reunion this Wednesday at Joseph Richard (PuB NiGHT!) and for those who unfortunately missed this trip, I will be happy to tell you everything about it this Wednesday!

See you there!

Great Day at the Barbecue Kick-Off!

Wow! It was great to see so many people come out for the barbecue on Saturday! I loved seeing new faces and hope everyone had a great time. Congratulations to Kim, who won two tickets to the Vancouver International Film Centre!

I also wanted to say thanks to Johan, who helped cook all the burgers, sausages and hot dogs for everyone! They were absolutely delicious! It was too bad the weather wasn’t nice, but I think everyone had fun playing poker and card games inside! The glow sticks in the dance room were a cool effect and fun to look at!

If you didn’t get the chance to make it out, there will be plenty more events and trips coming up, so keep an eye out for those. The next INTERNeX PuB NiGHT will be June 10, at the Blarney Stone in Gastown. More information about that can be found here.

If you would like to see pictures from the barbecue, visit our Flickr account! You’re probably in some shots!

If you have any questions, or would like to be signed up for our newsletter, send your name and e-mail address to laura@internexcanada.com. We always love to hear your comments and ideas for future events, so write us on facebook!

Hope to see you out with us soon!

Not Quite Ready to Say my Goodbyes…So Farewell INTERNeX!!

So I started at INTERNeX back at the end of November 2009 and I was taken on as the PR/Communications Intern. I had been looking for several months for opportunities within the work force but within my field of study, which is Communications. I was in my fourth year up at Simon Fraser University and had had little experience besides from survival jobs such as being a server at Joey’s on Broadway, cashier at Urban Outfitters, and so on. After years of working within the service industry I was ready to take on a new challenge and I had always been interested in doing an internship. After months and months of research with little to show for it I came across INTERNeX. They were offering an opportunity that just seemed to be exactly what I was looking for! After several interviews I was accepted and started work at their office the following week.

The first time I stepped into the office I was super nervous and everybody seemed to be quite involved in their own work. Tempted to just sit in front of my computer and get down to it, I recognized how important it was for me to get to know my coworkers because we would be working together for close to 6 months. So I realized how important it was for me to take myself out of my comfort zone and show the INTERNeX staff that I was there to be a part of their team. The first week was quite overwhelming because I had to get acquainted with all of systems and procedures in place within their social media networking tools and the company in general. But as the weeks went by i began to feel more and more comfortable in the office setting and actually started to feel like a member of the INTERNeX family.

(me sitting in the office @ my desk)

Everyday at the office was something new… and this aspect of my placement was very exciting for me and i welcomed this new change. Throughout a significant portion of my placement i was attending school as well, so i had to juggle a heavy course load and three days a week at the office. I was unsure as to whether i would be able to handle everything on my plate, but i actually began to look forward to my days at the office because it broke up my same old boring school schedule that i was getting tired of. I was learning about all these new social networking tools, such as twitter, facebook, twaitter, wordpress, flickr, etc and part of my job was planning events and trips! Cannot get much better than that!

(me at PuB NiGHT with some of the candidates)

As my placement progressed i was given more responsibility and was able to take on bigger projects. My placement lasted for a total of 6 months and in such a short amount of time i was able to learn so much from each and everyone in the office. Tomorrow is my last day and i can honestly say that i will miss INTERNeX terribly! I cannot begin to express how lucky i feel to have been given the chance to become  part of this company and meet such an amazing group of people from all over the world. Thank god i’ll still be able to drop by the office whenever i want and hopefully i can organize a great relationship between the cellar and INTERNeX so then i’ll never really have to say goodbye.

I just want to personally thank all of the members of the INTERNeX family; Patrick, Laura, Tim, Mina, Marien, Mayuko, Martina and of course Simon (the dungeon troll) and all the others who i never got the chance to meet, for making this an unforgettably life changing experience! So now its time to say ciao for now/L-boogie
