INTERNeX Canada: Fun Facts

Our Fun Facts for today consist of some funny laws existing in different countries. A few of them might be just a little outdated. But judge for yourself…

In Canada, if you are released from prison, it is required that you are given a handgun with bullets and a horse, so you can ride out of town.

Yeah right, so that you don’t have any means to do further harm – none at all.

In France, no pig may be addressed as Napoleon by its owner.

Would Hollande be OK?

In Alaska, U.S., it is considered an offense to push a live moose out of a moving airplane.

Seriously, who would do that?

In Florida, U.S., it is considered an offense to shower naked.

OK, really???

In Idaho, U.S., it is illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing more than 50 lbs (~ 23 kg).

I take this as a personal offense – gimme my candy!

In Ohio, U.S., it is illegal to get a fish drunk.

First of all, how would someone get that done? Secondly, how could anyone ever tell??

In Kentucky, U.S., no female shall appear in a bathing suit on any highway within this state unless she be escorted by at least two officers or unless she be armed with a club.
[Ammendment] The provisions of this statuate shall not apply to […] to female horses.

OK, so does this mean that women and female horses are on the same level and even more disturbing – do horses in Kentucky usually wear bathing suits?

In Pennsylvania, U.S., all fire hydrants must be checked one hour before all fires.

Yeah, because you know when there will be a fire. They are always so reliable.

In Texas, U.S., criminals are required to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed.

Dear Madam and Sir, I hereby inform you about my intention to murder you tomorrow at 8 p.m. I f this time does not suit you, we can reschedule. Sincerely yours,…

Hope that cheered you up a bit 🙂

See you soon,

Annika

News/Fun/Facts – George is going to Toronto

Hey Guys, it is me, George one of the five INTERNeX interns here in Canada.

I have been working for INTERNeX in Vancouver now for more than 6 months. I had a great time in Vancouver and it was great working together with the INTERNeX crew there. I also made various friends which I will be missing very much.
But people, Life goes on, and I am also looking forward to the future.

The last three weeks of my internship, I will be working for INTERNeX in Toronto. The office there is smaller but there is also a lot to do because also here in Toronto a big INTERNeX community exists and has to be taken care of.

INTERNeX employees are world citizens.
That is why I will live up to our reputation and start traveling after finishing my internship in Toronto. I have been to many places in the world but I have never made it to the east coast of North America, except of New York. My trip will start in Toronto; I will step by in NY again to visit a friend. Thereafter my destinations are Philadelphia, Washington, Florida (including Miami, South beach, Key west, The everglades, Tampa and Orlando). Afterwards I will fly back to the holy land of Canada, to name the exact place: Montreal. I friend of mine which I met on my travels through Central America will accommodate me for one week and show me again town. It is great to have contacts all over the world, so keep your friends you met here close.
This will be the end of my glory time in Canada. But it definitely won’t be the last time I will be here. I will come back, for sure!

Live your dreams and enjoy the moment as long as it lasts. I will never forget the great moments I had within the last 6 months and Canada will always be one of my favorite places in the world.

Cheers,

George
