New ‘Kids’ on the Blog

It’s finally time to meet our three new travellers joining the INTERNeX family this week!
Luckily you’ve got enough time to read all about our new girls, now that most of you are stuck at home anyways. Yes right, that is another funny story – Vancouver and snow? No Nadja, don’t even hope for it, it won’t happen anyways. Here we are, public transport being cancelled and downtown in chaos as if an apocalypse is about to happen.
So I got my day started with a little snow-hike to actually get to work.
Anyways, this is not about me ;).
Let’s take a look at the three newbies.
image1Starting of with Kris, she is a Canadian expert already. As she used to live here during her exchange year in high school. Very impressive and the living proof, that people are always coming back to our beloved Canada at some point. Kris found herself a second family during her last stay, which made the accommodation pretty easy this time! We are very glad, that you decided to also join the INTERNeX family! Welcome home!
The next new addition is Julia. Just as Kris, she came all the way from Germany to gain some precious work experiences over here. And a very interesting fact is, that she already stayed in Korea for quite a while. I hope, you are prepared to answer many questions about that, because personally I am very very interested to hear all about that. Besides getting to know the city life of Vancouver, Julia also has Seattle and Victoria on her bucket list. So if you have any kind travel advices or must sees, I am sure she will appreciate it!
Our last newbie of the week, is not from Germany for a change, but from Austria! Lovely Sophie over here, just finished high school and is taking her time off now to figure out what she wants. Great choice to come here Sophie, and what this will be a great and unique experience – I can promise you that. But be careful, Vancouver or Canada in general are very addictive :). As this is her first long-time stay abroad, lets make her feel like home already.

I am sure you guys are going to love these three lovely ladies!
And ladies, don’t worry, the INTERNeX family is always happy to welcome the new members <3.
Obviously I would love to see you guys at tonights Pub-Night at Steamworks at 7pm. But as the snow continues to fall (like crazy btw), please keep in mind that your safety is the priority here. Please consider that before  leaving the house tonight.
If there are an questions/problems whatever don’t hesitate to contact us!
I hope to see you soon.
Cheers,
— Nadja  xx

New ‘Kids’ on the Blog

Big warm Canadian welcome to our newest arrivals Sarah and Antonia. 1898132d-dc84-4ac1-ac5d-8c050e835890
Sarah is 23 and joining us from the lovely country of Germany. She is also taking part in a practicum program where she will be learning all about marketing and event planning. At home Sarah studies Economics and she focuses mostly on marketing. She has been to London and in one month she completed an english course.
Sarah doesn’t have an exact idea of what she expects from Vancouver so its our job here to help her discover the most and have the best experience.
3ffcb1ed-71cf-499e-bce7-02d1c73a124fAntonia is also from the beautiful country of Germany and will be attending language school here in Vancouver and has many plans to travel and work. During her time here she is open to new experiences and would love to see the beautiful sights here and also around Rocky Mountains.
Antonia has told us lots about how she has been skiing in Italy and Austria and would love to experience skiing here too.
We are looking forward to Sarah and Antonia joining us tonight for their first PuB Night so please help them feel welcomed. See you all at 7pm at The Spaghetti Factory!!!
Cheers,

PuB-Night Review

What a fun night – again. I know I’ve been saying this pretty much every Wednesday now, but I am honestly having such a good time with you guys. Thank you!

Last night we went to the Beaver again, the place where it all started – at least for me. And I honesty cannot believe it’s been almost two months since then!
One of the best things about the Beaver is also the fact that our 18 year old candidates are allowed to join as well. It’s always so nice to have everyone together!IMG_4828.jpg

So as always, we started the night with a few beers and some fireballs. And yes – of course I went for the nachos again!
And what would a Wednesday night at the Beaver be without music bingo? Considering the fact that we were such a big group, I was absolutely sure the victory will be INTERNeX’. Usually the luck always sticks with the newbies, and since we’ve got three this week, my hopes were pretty high to be honest.
But for some reason the luck was not on our side this time. Nobody got a single bingo .. what a disappointment. But of course our mood didn’t get harmed by this.
So after a few hours we got our stuff together and made our way to the Cambie. Always keeping in mind, that this was the more important match to win … after what happened a few weeks back (still bothering me btw).
But as we got there, no Beerpong atmosphere was to be found! Apparently nobody in there wanted to play a Beerpong tournament at this time, at least that’s what we’ve got told. Obviously this was not a reason for us to give up or even go home.
So after a few friendly chats with the bartenders, we got some cups and balls and since we were enough people to make 4 teams, we just started our own little tournament.
And as soon as we started, so many other people joined in and it just happen to turn out just as big as the usual Beerpong nights at the Cambie.
Anyways, not trying to show off here but the girl power, once again, proofed it’s strength and won the INTERNeX Beerpong tournament. I am so proud ladies, even tho we didn’t get to win the T-Shirts!
I really hope that someones ego recovered by now :-D.
(I am really sorry for the quality of this picture…. my camera just isn’t really the best :-D)

Anyways I had a fantastic time and a short night!
Thanks again for such a fun PuB-Night, you guys are fantastic!

So for those of you joining the hockey game – I am very excited to see you on Sunday.
And the rest I hope to see you at next weeks PuB-Night at the 131 Water Kitchen & Bar.

Have a lovely Thursday!

Cheers,

—Nadja

New ‘Kids’ on the Blog

Two new arrivals are to be welcomed this week! Everybody, these two are Conrad and Sandy from the UK!img_4776.jpg

Both of them are taking part in our Practicum program. Conrad will work in a radio station to live out his passion for music and make use of the knowledge he gathered during his studies. Therefore, this placement just seems to be perfect. Conrad never lived abroad before, but no worries, most of us haven’t  and eventually we are here to support each other in this. His plan is to stay in Vancouver for the whole next year.

Sandy just graduated in marketing and now wants to gather some precious work experiences on this side of the globe. During the next month you will find her at the art gallery in New Westminster. Just like Conrad, this is her first time travelling alone and living abroad.

In fact, the main reason for them to come here was to escape the Brexit. I am joking…. of course this wasn’t the MAIN reason… ;-).

As these two already joined us on the Christmas Market this weekend, we already know that they are an amazing addition to our group. Everyone else, make sure you’ll get to greet them at tonights PuB-Night at the Beaver at 7pm.

Can’t wait for tonight.
See you there.
