How was your Weekend?

Time to start the week again with another Monday. How was everyones weekend?

Looking back at the week I had, it was my very first week in the INTERNeX office and it was busy but I enjoyed it. Nadja has been showing me the ropes and hopefully I can plan some fun activities this winter :). Friday I went on a lovely hike with my homestay friend Nathalie and we went to the Lynn Canyon Park and got some instagram worthy shots. For the afternoon I would take it easy as I had a big week in the office so I ordered Chinese food and watched The Greatest Showman.

Sunday, as most of you guys would know, we went Ice Skating at Robson Square and I would highly recommend to do it if you missed out as its only $5 to hire skates and that’s all you have to pay. For some it was muscle memory, for others it was easy and for me it was neither. Watching everyone do tricks had me thinking of doing some…. all I did was think of doing tricks and I fell over HAHA… after a few snow ball fights we then warmed up with some hot chocolate we moved to the Christmas Markets. The best thing about traveling with a group is all about sharing moments and maybe food too 🙂 haha. We all enjoyed the live music, the tiny pancake lady and the incredible food that the market had to offer. I bought a season pass so I will be going there for dinner sometime this week or maybe a few times this week 🙂 .

Surprisingly this weekend didn’t end in fireball shots which I’m low-key happy about (Last weekend was rough).

Candidate Exposé – Lisa-Marie Hartwig

My name is Lisa-Marie Hartwig. I am 21 years old and I live in Stuttgart (southern Germany). I am studying Business Administration in the Service Sector Management of Non-Profit Organizations.

I wanted to experience a new country and I wanted to strengthen the general and specific knowledge and skills that are necessary for the work in NPOs or NGOs. At the same time I wanted to do this on an international level.

I found INTERNeX through the information event of the DHBW. I did the practicum program for 4 weeks. I chose this program together with a co-student. I liked it very much. I was placed at a small environmental organization with really cool people. The work was monotonously but we knew that before. The skills you need to have for this job are endurance, speed and attention. This was not a part of my university program. It was a voluntary decision from me. My employee didn’t mind. But it is useful for my résumé.

I was at a home stay from INTERNeX. My first impression from Vancouver was that the city is ugly. I was a little bit disappointed because many people were jealous. It was really cold in my room and I had a long bus drive to the city centre. I am not in Canada anymore. What I liked the most about the city and Canada was the neatness of the people.

I attended a lot of the activities from INTERNeX. I liked them very much because of different people you meet there. I was at Stanley Park, the Lookout, Harbour Centre, Robson Street, North Vancouver, Richmond, Lynn Valley Park and drove to a lake outside Vancouver. Visiting Sunshine Coast at the place of a colleague was the most memorable thing I did in Canada.

The first thing I did when I came home was having a dinner with my boyfriend and my parents. In Vancouver I thought I would travel more in the future, but since I am back in Germany it is the same daily grind like before. I would totally recommend the services of INTERNeX. They managed to call a taxi for the airport. And the introduction presentation was really helpful. The organized events were great and helped me to arrange my evenings.

INTERNeX Canada: PuB&CLuB NiGHT Announcement

Hi guys! By popular request, this week we are going to meet on Friday instead of on Wednesday! Better for all of us because the next day is weekend so we don’t have to get up early the next day! A pub&club night it the perfect way to say “hi” to the blessed weekend. Our experience at The Relish the last week was fantastic so we want to repeat!

This time we are going to meet at The Pint. It was one of the favorites places for the other PR team. We really want to go there because we’ve heard a lot of good things about this place. Is one of the most popular places in Vancouver! Join us! Is going to be an amazing night.

And the picture of the week is… Mercedes! Normally is very difficult get a picture from Mercedes… So we have to exploit this opportunity!
