INTERNeX Canada: SmartSaver Vancouver

Do you want a different kind of adventure but don’t have the pennies to go to space? Take a journey to the stars here in Vancouver for a dollar or two!

The Gordon MacMillan Southam Observatory is a 10 meter diameter observatory dome holding a Cassegrain telescope. It offers you to explore the skies around Vancouver, gaze in the stars and see how it looks from this side of the world. Knowledgeable guides will answer your questions and lead you on the Milky Way through galaxy. Admission to the observatory is by donation, decide yourself how much the experience is worth.

It is located next to the HR MacMillan Space Centre, 1100 Chestnut Street in Kitsilano, and open Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm in the summer. To confirm observatory opening hours please call (604) 738-2855.

This summer there also are special public viewings in the observatory. In the series “Movies under the Stars” you can watch space-themed movies in the planetarium! The next viewings are “The Right Stuff” on August 10th and “Spaceballs” on August 24th. You can buy tickets at the door.

Have an out-of-this-world experience!
