How was your Weekend?

And it’s Monday once again. But since it’s December now, turn up that Christmas music and make the best out of it!
Personally, I had a great weekend to look back to and I hope you guys did too. Friday was my day to relax. As me and my roommate had friends over this weekend we just spent most of the time catching up and talking over a glass of wine at night. Saturday was a bit more adventurous after all. Starting with taking a look at Yaletown transformed into Candytown. And Saturday was also the day to meet my new Co-Worker Sabrina. I am pretty sure you guys are gonna like her just as much as I do. So pretty much anyone who knows me by now, could figure that this ended up in a night going out. We went to a Irish bar/club and danced to Christmas-music all night long. Also Sabrina got into the joy of her first fireball here in Canada. Obviously ;-).

Sunday was a pretty calm day, till I got to meet the INTERNeX crew again!
Because Sunday was the day, I was looking forward to since my very first day here in Vancouver. The Hockey game!

Starting this exciting event at the Beaver for some pre-drinks and food before the game. Thanks again to Moose Travel for inviting us over ;-).
From there we made our way to the Rogers Arena. Even if you had absolutely no idea were this is, you would never get lost.
So many people in the Canucks and Oilers clothing made their way to the stadium, so you simply had to follow their lead. Just like a huge colony of ants, the stream brought us right away to the entrance. From here everything went pretty quick. Security check and finding the seats turned out to be super ea
sy and uncomplicated. From there a great show was to be provided.
Starting of with the mascot opening the ice-rink. From there we got to see everything you want to see in an hockey game, many goals, a lot of cheering and so much tension. Even a little fight in the end.
Even tho the Canucks didn’t win in the end, we still had a great time.
This wasn’t the

How was your weekend?

Yet another great weekend is behind us. I was glad to see so many of you guys joining our events during these past days. Let’s look more into the things we did with the INTERNeX gang.

The weekend kicked off with an awesome Game Night at our INTERNeX office. A lot of people showed up for the Game Night and it almost got crowded at the office. We played a lot of different games like Pictionary, Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, to name some. The night started around 6pm and almost didn’t end. Finally around midnight we managed to put the games back in their places and continued the night to somewhere else. This time we decided to go to the Pint, which is located right across the street from the International Village Mall. It was pretty convenient location for us. There we continued the party on the dance floor for a couple of more hours.IMG_20190407_201957.jpg

We ended the weekend with an evening trying to escape some crazy Escape Rooms at Locked Canada. There were 18 of us in total participating. We were divided into three different groups for three different Escape Room themes. Two of our groups managed two escape and I guess one group is still trying to find their way out. The theme we did with my team was the scariest one and I can tell you that it sure was scary. After we escaped the other teams told us that they’ve heard us screaming every now and then. I think we might go to the Locked Canada again some time soon since everyone enjoyed this event so much.

This week’s PuB NiGHT will be @ The Yagger’s Downtown at 8pm, see ya there!

How was your weekend?

Monday. Time to look back on the weekend. Here we go!

sdrFriday. I started off the weekend with a relaxed evening at Sunset Beach. Many joined INTERNeX’ spontaneous ‘Pizza & Sunset’ event. Favourite action of the night involved throwing around wooden sticks. The game is called Kubb, which is a famous Swedish outdoor activity. Even people walking by the beach stopped, took pictures and asked for the rules. I’m sure we’re setting a new trend here with this game. The night passed by quickly with eating pizza, playing card games, chatting and watching the stunning sunset. When it got dark and a bit cooler, a few of us went to a pub on Davie Street for a pint (greets to our English guys) and some more card games.

Saturday. Time to sleep in and take it easy this morning, before the next INTERNeX event of j4.jpgthe weekend started. ‘Honda Celebration of Light’ was planned for the evening. Many people were expected to attend this great event, so we already headed to English Bay in the afternoon to reserve a good spot. Not the worst place to spend a hot day like Saturday, especially with good company. More and more people of our gang arrived and settled down. We bridged the time until the firework started with games, music and snacks. Then, it was finally time for the big show, which was prepared by a team from South Africa. They did a great job! It was beautiful to see the fireworks lightening the sky for nearly half an hour. On our way home, we accidentally walked along the Relish, so we took the chance and got ourselves a pint, of course.

Bike blog.jpgSunday. Literally. To cool down a bit, I decided to visit the Metropolis shopping mall for a few hours. A great place to find everything you need, including 888 paper mache pandas. These are part of an exhibition that is traveling around the world. However, the weather was too nice to spend the entire day indoors. A great outdoor activity for hot days? Cycling! The place-to-be to do so is definitely Stanley Park. After a short stop at the bike rental, we got our one-speed-cruisers and biked relaxed around the seawall. I was, again, impressed by the beautiful nature so close to busy downtown. Amazing! The weekend ended with Sushi (no pint this time ;-)) and a lovely sunset on the way home.

That’s how I spent another perfect weekend in Vancouver. I hope you had a good one as well! See you at Wednesday’s PuB NiGHT at The Lennox Pub.

PuB NiGHT Review: 131 Water

Ready, set, let the game begin! The card deck ready in her hands, Nadine started to ask questions into the round. Black or red? Higher or lower? That’s how we began our PuB NiGHT at 131 Water yesterday. Some of you might recognize the questions – they are part of the game ‘bus driver’.42757303295_511babd74e_n

Shortly after 8pm, more and more people joined our table and the game as well. Some were lucky in the game, some not and others got so excited that they even spilled their beer all over the place. In the meantime, a new table opened up where some of us played the German game ‘Schummeln’. Fun times!

I was happy to see many new faces who we just welcomed in Vancouver last Monday. One topic of the night was of course our big trip to the Rocky Mountains next week. Many of you are excited to see the famous blue lakes in real life. Others did already and shared their experiences of the Rockies. Personally, I’m really looking forward it!

A few drinks later, it was time to change the location and introduce our new crew to the popular Met. As every Wednesday, karaoke was on the program for the night. So, we sang along to great and less great performances. Of course, the INTERNeX classic ‘500 miles’ couldn’t be forgotten on a night like this, so we gave it our best to entertain the pub.

Yesterday was great and the fun continues this weekend. I hope to see you on Friday for our picnic at Sunset Beach and on Saturday for the Celebration of Light!
