What to do on the weekend?

Hands up if you’re ready to do something you’ll regret this weekend. Go forth! You have my blessing. Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely fun. If you still have no idea what you will regret, I have some things listed down to make your weekend great.

For people who love skiing or snowboarding this will be a good weekend. Why? The Grouse Grind and Mt. Seymour are opening the ski season this weekend. You can get your lift passes with a discount and try the first snow of this fall.

Weekends don’t pay as well as weekdays but at least there’s hockey and to make it even better, there is not one but two games you can enjoy. The Giants will show what they can do on Saturday and Sunday. If you are not a real hockey fan, you probably aren’t Canadian. You can go to the market on Sunday instead. Cannery’s farmers market in Richmond or Hastings Park Winter Farmers Market will be the best options for you to go.

This Saturday is Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day is a memorial day since the end of the First World War to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. There are a couple places where you can go, but the ceremony at the Cenotaph at Victory Square is particularly impressive. Starting at 9:45 am and taking place at the park at the corner of West Hastings Street and Cambie, the service includes a performance by the Vancouver Bach Youth Choir, the sounds of a 21-gun salute by the 15th Field Artillery Regiment firing from Portside Park, and a Royal Canadian Air Force fly-past.

Later this Saturday we will meet at the Escape room. We will solve some puzzles that lead the way to the exit. It’s all about teamwork and logical thinking. Can we make it in time? We will meet up at 6:30 pm in front of the escape room. See you there!

What to do on the weekend?

Better days are coming. They called Saturday and Sunday. Hello weekend! No plans yet on what to do this weekend? I have got some tips for you.

There will be a UBC Halloween party tonight if you are not done with Halloween yet. If you are done with Halloween, maybe the paint competition ‘Battle of the Brush’ is something for you. There are also hockey games from the Giants and Canucks or a football game from the BC Lions for the sport lovers. The Craft Beer Festival is taking place in Coquitlam. Over 40 breweries will let you taste some of their best beers.

Saturday we will walk the Quarry Rock hike in Deep Cove. We enjoy the sunset at the end of the hike. Afterwards we will have some drinks, because Marvin will leave us after this weekend.

On Sunday we will go do the brewery tour on Granville Island. We will see how the beers are made and taste some tasters. We will meet in front of the brewery at 3:45pm. Have a nice weekend and I hope to see you somewhere this weekend!

Smart Saver

Smart saver Sundaaay again. Time to safe some money guys.

That’s easier said than done. It’s getting cold outside, so the free stuff like walking through the beautiful nature is not that attractive anymore. And of course hockey season started, so no tickets for the cheap hockey pre-season available anymore. Tickets for the Canucks starts from 70$, that’s pretty much.
Buuut no worries. We have a really great alternative for you!!
…….Vancouver GIANTS…..!!!!
Tickets for the Vancouver Giants cost between 19.50$ and 24$. So how does that sound???

As you can imagine Vancouver Giants are not such good players as the Canucks, but you get an entertainment, which is at least as impressive as a Canucks game. The Giants are playing more aggressive than the Canucks ( could be so much fun to see them “fighting”) and there is more pressure in the stadium.
Get more Giants-information here and buy your ticket for a great game here. Enjoy the game!

Wish you a great Sunday and an enjoyable Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

Halloween is soon, so don’t forget to vote for your preferred Halloween Party here.
Aaand join us for our upcoming Portland trip.

INTERNeX Highlights of March 2014

We are about to launch our second Highlights of the Month video, be prepared for the best 2 minutes of your day. In the video we will talk about what we did in March and what we are going to do in April.

In March we had five fun activities planned for you. The first weekend in March we went for a two-days trip to Whistler, were we had an amazing time. Everyone could do what they wanted, bungee jumping, zip trekking, snow tubing and of course skiing or boarding. We made dinner together in the hotel and went to town afterwards for a crazy party. On the 14th of March we went to a Giants Game, many went for the first time. It was a great match with some fights, unfortunately the Giants lost 6-5.  On Monday 17th of March it was St. Patricks Day and we went out for green beer and celebrate st. Patricks Day. On Saturday 22nd we went to La Casita for a INTERNeX family dinner. We ordered Mexican food, sangrias and margaritas. Afterwards some of us went to the Cambie. On the last weekend of March we wanted to go to an Ice cream tasting but ended up going for coffee and cheesecake, because the weather was really shitty.

In April we will have our first international dinner at the office were everyone brings some traditional food from there home country. On the second sunday of April we will go to FlyOver Canada for an impressive 4D experience and to learn more about Canada. And than it is finally time for the rockies trip on the easter weekend! We, here at INTERNeX, are so stoked to go up there with you guys! On friday after the rockies we will have a after party to talk about the rockies, see the pictures and to meet up with the candidates which stayed in Vancouver.

We hope you enjoyed our little video and tell us what you would like to do in upcoming months!

Giants hockey game review

Last Friday we went to our first hockey game and it was exciting! The game was in the Pacific Coliseum and we all enjoyed it so much and most of us really want to go back for another match. We went to see one of the last games of the Vancouver Giants vs. Kelowna Rockets.
We saw how fast they are on ice, how well they control the balance and even their skills on ice-skating. Even the referees slip like if they were in heaven.

The Vancouver Giants scored the first point during the first period so the atmosphere in the Pacific Coliseum was amazing. Sadly later the Vancouver Giants had a really hard game. Before the third period started the Kelowna Rockets scored 6 and the Vancouver Giants had only 2. But during the third period the Vancouver Giants where really good and so they scored 3 more goals. Well the final result was 5 – 6 (I know, too sad that our Giants lost).

There were a lot of tense moments between the teams and a few guys were ejected during the periods. More pictures can be found here.

It was an amazing and intense match, so you should go at least once to a hockey game while you are here in Canada.

ps: no PuB NiGHT on Wednesday

We hope you all had a great weekend and we will see you tonight for the St. Paddy’s Party at Joseph Richards at 9pm.
