Review: Queen Elizabeth Park

Last Saturday we visited the Queen Elizabeth Park. We were very lucky with the weather because, after three days with rain, it was sunny again. So we were totally able to enjoy the park.

Since the park is really beautiful and the second most visited after Stanley Park, many people come there to make their wedding pictures.
We saw people playing tennis or golf and the kids were able to flounder about in the water of the fountain.
First of all we went to the highest point in the park and took nice pictures of the amazing view over the city. Later on we just walked through the park and enjoyed the nice gardens with beautiful flowers.

We found a sunny place on one of the many meadows to sit down and talked about everything and nothing. It was really fun and relaxing. The time went by fast as we were talking a lot and after three hours we went home to appease one’s hunger.

It was great to see so many new faces and I’m looking forward to see you at the next Pub Night on Wednesday again.

INTERNeX Canada: PuB NiGHT Review!

Have you ever tried playing Jenga at a pub? Well neither have I…that is until last night when we all gathered at Doolin’s Irish pub for our weekly meeting 😉  Do you know how nerve-racking it is playing Jenga?! It was still really fun though!

Probably the best part of the night was when we were playing Battle of the Sexes! It was so much fun, except for the fact that there weren’t enough girls so some of the guys had to join the girls team. Unfortunately in the end, the guys team won. But I want a REMATCH. Where are all the girls when you need them? C’mon! There was a question that was asked, “where is the forbidden city located?” to which I answered ‘Vegas’….but the real answer was ‘Beijing’…oops! And now everyone is after me!

And also throughout the night, people kept guessing the amount of chocolate eggs in the jar. Some people went far as to coming up with math formulas and calculations and all that stuff. But the winner in the end was…*drumroll*…Rie! She guessed 220 and the actual amount was 222 (just two numbers off!). I wish I could have guessed.

You all know how much I love the Morrissey pub, but I actually didn’t mind trying a new place this week. And I got to say, Doolin’s Irish Pub was pretty awesome! It  has a very welcoming atmosphere and the music wasn’t too loud so we could talk. And of course the waitresses were friendly as well. But if you’re going to order food there, do NOT order their cheesy bread.

That’s it for now! If you didn’t make it last night, don’t miss out next week for even more awesome games and prizes! For those of you going to the Rockies next week, you should definitely come out because we will be going over some important information about the trip! 🙂

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Casual Friday!

Did you know it’s Valentine’s Day next week Thursday February 14th? Uh oh. If you have that special someone in your life and you haven’t thought of what to do or get them, you are in big trouble! Just kidding 😉  If you are having trouble figuring out what to do for your special date, this might give you some ideas! We asked some people from INTERNeX (girls AND guys), on what they thought to be the PERFECT Valentine’s Day date in Vancouver, and here is what they had to say!

The “IDEAL” Valentine’s Day date from the guys perspective:

Guy #1: “I’d start the date by a nice stroll along the Seawall, then dine her at a restaurant (preferably not too expensive). Then I’d ask her to come back to my place”

Guy #2: “My ideal version of a Valentine’s Day date would be to first take a walk somewhere beautiful and scenic. Then we’d have a small picnic. If the weather gets chilly, I’d take off my jacket for her (a man of chivalry, perhaps?). Then I’d walk her home…”

Guy #3: “I’d take her to Granville Island, it’s really nice there and take a walk and maybe check out the market. After, we’d take a water taxi back to Vancouver. Then we’d go back to my place and I’d cook her dinner”

The “IDEAL” Valentine’s Day date from the girls perspective:

Girl #1: “I’d like to take a walk along the beach, followed by a romantic candlelit dinner. After dinner, we’d go to watch a movie. But after that, I’d like to go home and sleep”

Girl #2: “I’d start the day by being treated to a really nice breakfast at home. And by that I mean, the breakfast table has to be all decorated, with coffee, orange juice, pancakes, and everything!  We then will take a walk through a park if it’s nice weather and rent a boat. After, we’d have a really nice dinner at a restaurant. Then I’d end the day by watching a movie of MY choice”

Interesting…very interesting. What will you do on Valentine’s Day for that special someone? Or rather, what would YOU like to do?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: Pub Night Review

Yesterday we had another great pub Night! We went to a new place on Granville Street called The Morrisey Pub with special beer for 3 dollars! Yuju (I personally don’t like beer but probably I am the only one in our INTERNeX group haha)

We were around 20 people from Denmark, China, Germany, Korea, Sweden, and Spain… Pretty much everywhere…

Do you know how many girls were we? Just the PR team in the beginning!! Later two of my favorites Germans girls arrived, Thanks Mati and Hanna! 🙂 So if the last pub night we have a proportion of 2, 5 boys per girl, yesterday was around 4 boys per girl…oh god this is getting better and better! 😉 Girls, this is your opportunity! Come to the next pub night!

Anyways, we really enjoyed our company and is always nice to spend some time with people like you, talking about different impressions of life here, crazy trips before coming back home,  people like Hanna and me we don’t want to come back at all, new plans, new jobs in Canada…. so glad to meet you all and really sorry for those who are leaving soon 😦

And I have t recognize it, I like you all guys, your positive attitude (Even doing new friends in the pub), your vision of the world, your interests… but PLEASE don’t get mad when the picture moment arrives…because yes it will continue arriving! Just smile us, and don’t hate us! Pleaseee 🙂

See you all next week in our special Pub and Club Night on Friday… I am already afraid of the next Friday night…haha but we will see!

Cheers,

Irene
