INTERNeX PuB NiGHT @ The Cambie!

Oh yes, it’s time for another INTERNeX PuB NiGHT! This time, we’re heading over the Cambie Bar in Gastown!

The Cambie bar is part of the Cambie Hostel, which all began in 1887, when a new saloon on the bustling Cordova Street quickly established itself as a happening social centre for locals and travelers alike. When the Prohibition of the 1920’s was in full swing, bootleggers floated their forbidden wares through False Creek and delivered them straight to the Cambie storeroom through an extensive network of underground tunnels. The General Store & Bakery adjacent to the pub saw its share of excitement too, as a boxing ring where five cents would buy you hours of ringside entertainment. Although the hotel got a major facelift in 1997 to camouflage a century of drunken debauchery, the spirit of excitement and fun is still very much alive.
So join INTERNeX at the Cambie on Wednesday, July 7 at 300 Cambie Street in Gastown! 8 p.m. is our usual meeting time, so come around then! This time we’ll have a little trivia quiz so we can dish out some prizes. Make sure to be on time or miss out on some good stuff!
See you next week!

Join Us For A Good Time & Good Conversation

Since the Internet took the world by storm in the 1960’s, many forms of communication have become more and more popular. Twitter, Facebook, text messaging and Msn Messenger are now being used to find out everything from what your friends are doing, to the news on the street. But with all of these online and virtual forms of communication, what ever happened to real conversation? You know, the kind where you sit and chat  face-to-face with someone, where a laugh is measured by a verbal ha-ha and not an “lol” reply?

Want good conversation? Then join us for an evening of chatting at a local coffee shop! Sit and relax with other international people your age over a cup of joe. Meet and interact with people from all around the world and feel what it’s like to once again enjoy good conversation!

Intrax and INTERNeX are joining together for this event, and we want you to join! Wednesday, July 7, meet up with our group as we head to a local coffee shop around 4:15 p.m. We will be meeting outside of Intrax at 827 Pender Street West (Vancouver).

There is no cost for this event, only whatever you buy to drink! Send an e-mail to pr@internexcanada.com to confirm your attendance, we look forward to seeing you!

Next PuB NiGHT June 10!

Thanks to everyone that came out last night to Malone’s Pub and Grill, I hope you had a great time! Haven’t made it out to INTERNeX PuB NiGHT yet? Don’t miss out on the next one happening June 10 at the Blarney Stone! Swing by around 8 p.m. and meet other INTERNeX program participants!

On Thursday night, Dance mob will be spinning the best of Top 40 rock and dance covers! More than just an Irish Pub, the Blarney Stone is Vancouver’s Institution for Irish Food, Entertainment, and Atmosphere.  Voted Best Irish pub in Vancouver again last year, the Blarney Stone offers a unique pub experience by day and rip roaring, feet stomping good times by night.  Conveniently located in the centre of Vancouver’s historic Gastown District, the Blarney Stone is both a local favourite and tourist destination.

This 7,000 square foot venue is pleasantly divided into many different areas and atmospheres.  As a traditional Irish pub, we have seating options from cozy booth snugs and large wing back loungers, to a shared spot at a long table or a seat at any one of our three bars.

The Blarney Stone has a large selection of Draft Beers, Scotches, and Whiskeys (they are Irish after all!), and Vodkas from around the world.  We have a newly renovated kitchen and our menu is a mix of authentic Irish food and dishes with a modern and international flare.

Have a pint with friends after work or watch almost any game on one of our many Plasma TV’s.  Later in the evening, mix it up on our large dance floor!
