Review: Vancouver Canucks hockey evening

Last Saturday we had a great evening by watching a hockey game here in Vancouver. It was the last pre-season game this year and the Vancouver Canucks played against the Edmonton Oilers. After a few Minutes Vancouver did already the first goal and again after a few Minutes they did their second goal. So it seemed the game would be very one-sided and Vancouver would win for sure. But then the game turned and Edmonton did one goal as well by playing really not bad anymore. The game turned from one-sided into suspenseful and we followed the game passionately.
The atmosphere was great, so even ,if you don’t like hockey, it’s a lot of fun. During the breaks they threw Canucks-shirts into the crowd, filmed people, who were dancing or did other funny things and played good music. The audience did a la ola wave and cheered the Canucks on. Apart from the game there were so many things and people that entertained you…it was really not possible to get bored.
At the end the Canucks won by three goals to two…YIHAAAA!!

Since it was still early for a Saturday evening we went out to the Doolin’s Irish Pub to enjoy some more beers.
See more pictures of the evening here.

Hope all of you have a great start in this week and we see you on wednesday at the PuB Night.

Join us for a great movie evening next Saturday here.

INTERNeX Canada: How was your weekend?

“Last Friday night, yeah we danced on table tops”  -well almost. If you didn’t get the the reference, that was part of the lyrics from Katy Perry’s song Last Friday Night! This is so fitting for us because we really partied it up at the Pint for a pub and club night last Friday! And we had an amazing time just catching up with old and new faces, dancing, singing, and having a couple of drinks! It was also a very special night because in a way it was like a celebration and farewell party for Maike, Jildau, and Tam Ara. And because we had such a big group our tables were scattered all around the pub! I’d say it was one of the biggest groups we’ve had so far so let’s keep it up! 😉

The night began somewhat slow but just an hour later, the pub got so crowded and every one was cheering and just having a great time! We also had Samuel drop by from Westtrek tours to talk about our Rockies Trip! And then later in the night, we did a draw for a one day trip ticket from Westtrek to either Seattle or Whistler…and if you missed the announcing, the winner was Queenie!!

Also, the Vancouver Canucks won the hockey game against Predators (1-0) which was awesome. But I got to say, the game wasn’t that exciting -oops did I just say that? And then to end the night, we all went to the dance floor to show off our moves! Although I’m not much of a dancer, it was just so much fun I almost couldn’t pull myself away!

As for the rest of the weekend, it was very relaxing for me! Last night, I watched a movie called “Life of Pi” and the visuals in the movie was just so impressive! I highly recommend you watch it. And of course, if you’re looking to be more involved in fun events like these and more, come with us to the Rockies trip at the end of March! 😀

Cheers,

Flora

INTERNeX Canada: What to do on the weekend?

Is there any way to vote for a four-day workweek and a three-day weekend? I could get used to this for sure! A third day would be just perfect to recover from the previous days’ exertions and get physically and mentally ready to work at full power the next day.  Hmm for now let’s face merciless reality though and make the most out of this Saturday and Sunday, ok? 🙂

Here are some cool suggestions for you guys:

Eastside Culture Crawl | Nov 16-18th 2012

Great for everyone who is culturally interested in any kind of way. “The Eastside Culture Crawl is a free annual 3-day November event that involves artists on Vancouver’s Eastside opening their studio to the public. The event is focused on the area bounded by Main St., 1st Ave., Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront and involves painters, jewelers, sculptors, furniture makers, musicians, weavers, potters, writers, printmakers, photographers, glassblowers; from emerging artists to those internationally established.”

  • Where? Vancouver Eastside (surprisingly enough ;)) Check out the MAP
  • When? Nov 16-18th;   Fri 5pm-10pm, Sat and Sun 10am-6pm
  • How much? FREE

INTERNeX Hockey Day – Vancouver Giants vs. Saskatoon Blades | Nov 18th

If there was something more Canadian than maple syrup, it would have to be HOCKEY!! I am not the biggest fan of sports in general but a hockey game is a unique experience, that’s a fact. Join INTERNeX for the game on Sunday and save a couple of dollars on your ticket as we get the group discount. Make sure you click “attend” on the facebook event page by Saturday 1pm as we have to order the tickets in advance. The special ticket price for you is $18, make sure you bring cash please! Everyone who shows up spontaneously will unfortunately have to pay the full price.

  • Where? Pacific Coliseum, 100N Renfrew Street (main entrance)
  • When? 3:15pm (the game starts at 4pm)
  • How much? $18 if you sign up with INTERNeX

TORONTO:   Swap – Don’t Shop! Clothing Swap Party | Nov 17th

Get rid of your old stuff and trade it for cool clothes someone else doesn’t want anymore! I would totally go if I was in Toronto right now – especially as a traveler (and even more as a girl), it’s hard to live up to one’s fashion ideal for the simple reason that a suitcase doesn’t usually fit more than 23 kilos. This is a great opportunity to find new clothes without wasting your money and space in your travel luggage. All clothing, shoes, and other accessories (with the exception of socks & undies) that are clean and in good condition are welcome. Leftovers will be donated to local charities.

  • Where? Beaver Hall Gallery, 29 McCaul Street (Queen Street West and McCaul Street)
  • When? 12pm to 4pm
  • How much? $8 with at least 5 items to swap, $13 without

Have a great weekend!

Cheers

Marianne
