What to do on the weekend?

*knock knock* Who is there? Weekend! Yes, that’s right! I am trapped in the office today, because weekend is at the doorstep. But I am always glad when it’s here! And then, the well-known question comes in my mind: What to do on the weekend?

20171228_183415

We made is easy for you to start your weekend a good way. We are going ice-skating at Robson Square. Let’s have some fun with our ice skates on. When ice time is over, it’s time for some line dancing and bull riding. We will heading to the Yale Saloon and be cowboys and –girls for a night.

This weekend is also the Dine Out Vancouver Festival. Hundreds of restaurants have special deals for you. All 3-course menus range in price from $20 to $40 dollars. Check if you restaurant is also participating in this festival on their site.

If you have enough of the cold and you just want to warm up, go crab a hot chocolate at the Hot Chocolate Festival. Also at this festival a lot of restaurants participate. Go in and see what special hot chocolate creations they have for you.

Don’t regret anything you didn’t do. Enjoy your weekend to the fullest and have lots of fun. I hope to see each of you at the Ice Skate Rink tonight!

How was your weekend?

It’s Monday again which means that the weekend is already over. But since my weekend was so much fun, I would like to look back on it one more time with all of you guys! So if you want to know what I did this weekend than keep on reading!

My weekend started off on Friday when we decided to play a really fun game at the office called Zombies. When we were done with the game I met up with Roslyn to grab some food at The Pint before going to her and Linda’s Birthday Party in 131 Water.

Once we all arrived in the pub we played Card Against Humanity, which is always a lot of fun. After a couple drinks and some food we decided to continue our night at The Bourbon where we had some more drinks.

Since it was a long night on Friday I woke up pretty late on Saturday and watched some Netflix before it was time for me to get ready to grab some dinner and go to the Christmas Karaoke Trolley tour. Once I finished my sushi dinner we met up with all the other INTERNeX candidates at Canada Place where our tour started. We first visited Bright Nights at Stanley Park, drove past Hycroft Manor and St. Paul Hospital and finished our tour at the VanDusen Botenical garden.

On our way to all these amazing destinations we sang a lot of Christmas Songs like “All I Want For Christmas Is You” “ Last Christmas” “Let it Snow” and many more. The Christmas Lights at VanDusen and Stanley Park were really pretty and impressing. At VanDusen we all enjoyed a Hot Chocolate or Mulled Wine.

When the tour ended we decided to go to The Blarney Stone where a live band was playing some music and after a couple of drinks we went with some people to The Bourbon to proceed the party there.

On Sunday I slept in and visited David at Horseshoe Bay at night and after he was done with work we went to downtown to the Yale Saloon for a drink. It was a lot of fun since they had karaoke night there and you all know how much we love karaoke.

Thank you all for joining us for the Christmas Karaoke Trolley Tour and we hope to see you all at the next PuB NiGHT in The Charles Bar!

How was your weekend?

This weekend was a weekend to remember! So if you would like to know what we did keep on reading!

On Friday after work I had a pretty relaxed evening. I first went up to Horseshoe bay where I grabbed a coffee at Blenz and waited for David to be done with work. After he was done we went to downtown to grab some late dinner at Mc Donalds before heading home.

On Saturday I slept in and met up with Roslyn and Rebecka for some sushi before heading to The Bourbon. At the Bourbon we did some shots and enjoyed the Happy Hour deal. Later also Tom, Sebastian and his colleague joined us for some drinks and dancing. After a long and fun night we decided all to head home.

On Sunday the alarm went off pretty early since it was time for the Santa Claus Parade in Downtown. We saw a lot of fun cars passing by like the Vancouver Police Department, the Firefighter Department and of course Santa Claus himself!

After the parade we grabbed some lunch at Boston Pizza which included a lot of desserts as well. When we all finished our delicious lunch we headed to the Christmas Market at Jack Poole Plaza. It was a really pretty market with a lot of German inspired Christmas stands and also a lot of German food.

When we were done with buying some German food and drinking our warm apple cider and hot chocolate we ended our night!

Thank you all for joining and we hope you had an amazing weekend as well. Looking forward to see you all at the PuB NiGHT at the Black Frog!

Ready, Set…GO!

What a weekend!

Ten young people, having a thirst for adventure met at 9 a.m. in front of the Waterfront Station in Vancouver, all ready for SNOWTUBING!

It took the old blue shuttle bus about half an hour to get to the top of Mount Seymour where everything was covered with a beautiful white layer of snow. Perfect conditions for snowtubing!

First, we checked out the facilities and got the sobering news that the lift was not working so we would have to walk up the hill after every ride…
Nobody of us was pleased about that but due to the fact that we got a 50% discount for the inconvenience…We went for it! We purchased the tickets, grabbed some tubes and could not hide our enthusiasm! Most of us started with the “slowest” lane to get an idea of what we could expect from the “Kamikaze” track…

I can only speak for myself, but when you let yourself fall on this huge tube with your stomach, sliding down the hill, constantly picking up the speed and feeling the wind rushing through your hair…it is just awesome!

Some didn’t go for a ride that often whereas others were going round by round, climbing up the hill like mountain goats! Even the guys were giving up after some time but Agnes, our candidate from Switzerland impressed us all because she carried the tube on her shoulder when walking back up and even went for two rounds while the others were still busy with making their way up the hill after only one lap…

In between we took a break and went to a small cafeteria nearby for getting warmed up. Hot chocolate, soup and tea were really helpful with that!

Temporarily, the weather conditions aggravated. Heavy fog made it impossible to see the end of the slope and nobody could estimate whether the way was clear. But! Since young people like taking risks…We showed no fear and kept dashing downhill! 🙂
Luckily, there were no accidents and the whole group got back to downtown sound and safe at around 6 p.m. It was a long day…with no end in sight!

On the bus, I met a German guy who invited the whole group to a huge house party. We did some pre-drinking at my place before crashing the party which was only two blocks down the street and indeed VERY HUGE! Everybody was having a great time and met a whole lot of new people. Unfortunately, police ended the party but we were tired and exhausted anyway…

George and Ziska really enjoyed this trip with you guys and we really hope to see you back at the next big event! Stay tuned!

Find more picture on flickr!

For those who joined this great event, feel free to send me your best picture of that day and maybe it will become the “picture of the week”!

Cheers,
Ziska
