INTERNeX Canada: PuB NiGHT Review!

look over here!

Last pub night, we listened to live music performances, drank, and played darts at the Railway Club! At first, we were seated right in front of the performance stage so we couldn’t talk to each other at all! But then we moved to the back where we were all able to chat and still listen to the music.

Railway Club is a really unique and cozy place! The inside is nicely decorated with musical instruments, hanging lights, and has a western feel to it! We decided to play a game of darts and I lost…miserably. I let others take my turns (hoping they’d win some points for me), but I think they actually made it even worse. Let’s just say, you shouldn’t be drinking if you want to win at darts! But I did get one bulls eye…so that makes up for it! I also talked to some new members of INTERNeX yesterday which was awesome! To those who are new, welcome to our pub nights! Keep coming out to these events, you’ll definitely have a great time and you’ll get to meet cool people…like me! 🙂

The food was also awesome, And seriously they have the most delicious mouth-watering, I-would-do-anything-for-a platter of pulled pork on buns…I can still taste it now. But maybe it tasted so good because I was hungry…and when you are hungry ANYTHING tastes great! That’s why you never should go to a grocery store if you are hungry.

Erik playing a game of darts!

And on Thursdays, they have a Ukele night so check that out if you’re interested!

Missed out last night? Come join us this Saturday at our INTERNeX office for a night of games and movie! Bring food as well! Click here for more information!

Picture of the week

Hey everybody out there,

The picture of this week has been taken in the Rockies, while taking a break. This little naughty Chipmunck saw that we were sitting around, enjoying our lunch and just thought: “Oooooh, this cookie there looks great!” So he didn´t think about any consequences and grabbed himself a cookie. As you can see on the picture, this cookie was nearly bigger then himself , but this little hungry boy ate the whole cookie 🙂

And while he was eating we took this cute picture. Enjoy 🙂

Cheers guys,

Your-PR Team

Great Food At INTERNeX Pot Luck

Yesterday’s Pot luck at the INTERNeX Staff House was a huge success!  A Pot Luck Party consists of everyone preparing a dish and bringing it with them.  Because there are many people living in the house, this meant that the kitchen was very busy all day with people preparing their dish.

We arranged the dining room with one long table so everybody could sit together. Because we started out a bit later than planned, everybody was very hungry. As soon as the meals were put on the table, everyone started eating!

You would have thought the house was a five star restaurant. Each dish was amazing! In total there were about 12 to choose from. The homemade Goulash in particular was a huge hit with everyone. Goulash is a Hungarian stew with beef, onions, vegetables, spices and paprika powder. Another dish everyone couldn’t wait to try was the camel and kangaroo meat. Some of the other dishes that were prepared were: spaghetti with meat sauce, pasta salad, roasted potatoes with rosemary and Frittata – an egg-based dish with ingredients such as cheese, spinach, and vegetables.

In addition to all of these wonderful dishes, we also had people who cooked something popular to their country. There was paella from Spain and a German dish called Kaese Spatzle, which is similar to Canadian macaroni and cheese.

Even though everyone was pretty full from all the delicious meals, no one wanted to miss out on dessert. With desserts such as red fruit crumble and pancakes, everyone could really enjoy themselves. But perhaps the biggest hit of the evening was the homemade chocolate chip ice cream! For the people who wanted a healthier dessert there was also a delicious homemade fruit salad.

It was the first time that we organized a Pot Luck but I certainly hope it won’t be the last one! The evening was filled with fun conversation and good food!  We got to know some new people, which is always good.  Of course we made lots of pictures during the evening. Click here to check out the pictures!

Missed out on the Potluck?  Not to worry, INTERNeX organizes lots of events were you can meet new people. On Thursday June 10th we will be holding a PuB NiGHT at the Blarney Stone. Hope to see you there!

Café Crêpe

I think I’m in love. With crêpes. This weekend, I went for another stroll down Robson Street, however I didn’t get very far. The sweet, sweet aroma of chocolate drizzle, strawberry and nutella made me stop dead in my tracks. Could it be? Love at first bite…

I had always seen the red lights that hovered above this little restaurant on Robson street, but had never stopped to order anything. Usually I eat lunch before heading out for some shopping, but on Saturday all I could think about was food! As soon as the smell of melting chocolate and fresh cut strawberries reached my nostrils, I was running towards the express window at Café Crêpe.

Importing the tradition of the classic European café to North America, Café Crêpe specializes in Parisian sweet & savoury crêpes. There are so many different types of crêpes to try at this hub, it can drive a hungry person mad! In addition to crêpes, they also specialize in french baguette sandwiches, and grilled Italian panini.  As an international café, Café Crêpe also offers world classics like half-pound certified Angus burgers, pommes frites (french fries),thin crust pizza, and a full traditional breakfast menu that includes Eggs Benedict and an exciting variety of omelettes, among other specialties. In addition to serving exceptional Italian roasted coffee, Café Crêpe is fully licensed, offering a vast selection of alcoholic beverages and cocktails, along with select beers and wines.

Everyone NEEDS to try something from this restaurant. Although a little pricey (depending on what you order), you will not be let down! I still dream about this crêpe.

Enjoy your eats!
