What to do on the weekend?

It’s weekend again. This time we chosen for you the Art Battle Vancouver, Richmond Night Market, Flea Market, Richmond Night Market, Comic Arts Festival, International Summer Night Market and the Women2Warrior.

 
Art Battle Vancouver

12 of Vancouver’s best professional and emerging artists will competing for fun, glory, a $500 cash prize and a spot in the Vancouver Finals in July 2014. This year has been fantastic for live art and Vancouver hopes to take home the National Championship once again.

                                                                                                          

Richmond Night Market

Richmond’s amazing night market is a don’t-miss summer tradition, with 300 vendors, tons of food, and thousands of visitors at 8351 River Rd, Richmond. $2 admission.

                                                                                                           

Flea Markets

There a some Flea markets around the town this weekend. We have the Eastside Flea Summer Market, which is inside and ousting the Wise Hall. With a revolving roster of just under 40 vendors at each event, the Eastside Flea will have everything from retro sunglasses to plant starts, denim shorts and sun deck decor. The Eastside Flea Summer Market is located in 10-4 at the Wise Hall.

 

                                                                                                            

Vancouver Comic Arts Festival

The Vancouver Comic Arts Festival is a weekend-long celebration of comics that enjoyed its launch in May 2012. The festival features readings, panels, and workshops, culminating in a two-day exhibition for cartoonists from across the country and down the coast.

                                                                                                             

International Summer Night Market

The *other* night market in Richmond. This one’s free and is a bit more calm then the other one with the giant duck. It’s got tons of food, tons of cheap booths, and… it’s free! Current location is a 10-acre site located at 12631 Vulcan Way (behind Home Depot on Sweden Way).

                                                                                                             

Woman2Warrior

Vancouver’s only women’s charity obstacle adventure race in support of Easter Seals B.C., is back for a second year. This five-kilometer run features a dozen obstacles that test strength, agility and balance. Funds raised will send over 900 kids and young adults to accessible Easter Seals camps in B.C. 9am – 1pm at Swangard Stadium, Burnaby. $35 each.
