What to do on the Weekend?

Thanks for asking ;).
As the snow and the freezing weather has finally reached Vancouver, you might just think about cuddling up on the couch with a hot chocolate in your hand a overly dramatic romance on Netflix accompanying you. But there is way too much happening this weekend, so I guess you’ll have to ditch Netflix for now.
82140236_10157844476222103_1811123683645718528_n.jpg
Starting off with the battle of the year happening this very Sunday. And yes once again, I might take it way too serious, but I simply love winning, so don’t expect any mercy from my sides, when you see yourself going down on the battlefield of lasers!
Therefore, I am honestly looking forward to the Lasertag event this Sunday.
But besides that, there are some other great things to keep you busy in this very cold winter days.
North Vancouver just opened a new giant Ice-rink, just 5 minutes walk from Lonsdale-Quay. It’s outside, it’s covered and it’s for free. You want to be outside and enjoy the B.C.-Winter – then here you go ;-).
Another world famous thing is the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and currently they still got the beautiful lights up. So besides getting to see one the most well know bridges, you also feel like you are in a fairy wonderland, far away from any problems and sorrows! You might want to check out the ticket prices, before you decide how badly you need to escape from reality, but one thing is for sure – it is definitely worth it! If you are more the tuff and sporty kind of person, you might want to get yourself a ticket to the UBC Tunderbirds Women’s Hockey Game on Saturday. And these ladies will show you how it’s done!
To escape the cold, grey weather a good hour or two of laughing also helps you to get over the winder blues. As the House of Comedy is presenting Derek Gaines this weekend, get yourself a ticket and work out those stomach-muscles! Derek Gaines is well known for is sarcastic and (obviously) funny perspective of a African American living in the Suburbs.
As you might have noticed, there are many celebrations going on at the moment, to be specific the Chinese New Years is just around the corner. And in celebration of the year of the rat, the CNY Vancouver Carnival is happening on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7pm. Taking place at the Aberdeen Square you get to see some outstanding cultural performances as well as authentic food to fill your belly. Besides that, the admission is free, therefore you’ve got nothing to loose here :D. If you are looking for a wild night out, the Vancouver Glow Party is happening tonight at the Republic. Described as an event with high energetic music, back lighting, laser lights and a combination of perfect balanced sound systems mixed with spectacular light shows, this seems like the place to spent your night in.
Have a fantastic weekend and don’t let the winter blues catch you!
Cheers,

How was your Weekend?

The first full week of January is about to start, and this means for most of you – let’s get back to work!
Let’s do it guys!

This weekend the INTERNeX crew went to the Stanley Park Brewery. Located right in Stanley Park (as the name might have spoilered already), this very romantic, beautiful place provided us a beautiful evening.

IMG_5613.JPGWe got to eat a fantastic dinner and of course got try out some different sort of beers brewed right there. One fly included 4 different kinds of beers, which you got to choose from a menu of 16 different beers. A variety I was clearly overwhelmed with. Whereas others actually made  logical decision based on the very fancy descriptions for every beer, I sticked to trusting the waiter with all my heart or just going for wild, slightly random picks. Cleary I am not a professional beer taster yet, even tho this little fancy glasses made you feel like one.  However, have you ever tried Coffee-beer? I just loved it, so in case you don’t know what to choose, this is definitely something I can recommend. And trust me, I actually sounds wilder than it tastes.

After the dinner we went on to The Cambie, where we went back to the beer-classics and had some nice chats, while listening to a bit strange mix of music.
Thank you guys for a lovely Saturday!

Next weekend we will be playing Lasertag, so whoever isn’t afraid to face my very professional ninja-skills is more than welcome to sign up for it on Facebook. And yes, once again  you will have to agree to this very huge and intense commitment of clicking the going button on Facebook (I know I am asking a lot here), if you want to be part of this battle of a century.

If you have any question you can always message us or ask me at this weeks Pub-Night at the La Casita!

Have a wonderful week,

Cheers

What to do on the Weekend?

The feeding has come to an end, or with other word, the holidays are eventually over.
I hope everyone had a fabulous start into 2020. If you had any New Years Resolutions, I am very sorry it didn’t work out. If you still have them, good luck ;-).

Anyways, the first weekend of the year is coming up and I’d say let’s make the best out of it to set the year right from the very beginning!
This Saturday our INTERNeX family (we celebrated Christmas together, I’d say we are a family now :D), is going to Stanley Park! And not just anywhere but to the very well-known Brewery. And just as you do in a Brewery, we are gonna have a little Beer tasting there. And even if you are not 19 yet, you are more than welcome to join and watch us drinking beer. No I am joking, of course there are going to be non-tipsy making alternatives for you :). 81590461_10157832441207103_8936653467716419584_n.jpg
If you decide on joining, you want to be quick on clicking on going on Facebook, as we only have two seats left.
Besides that, here are some more inspirations for the upcoming weekend:
If you are planning on going for a wild night on Saturday, you might want to consider the MIA nightclub. They will be hosting the ‘Rave for Cancer’, which means fundraising for the Young Adult Cancer Society. I think this is a very cool and important thing and should remind us on how lucky we are ourselves! The only problems our peers should be facing is stuff like the previous breakup, the unwanted twinning with that girl in the club (crashing, I know) or the failed uni-exam. Okay well, my examples might be not the best here, but what I am trying to say it – be grateful guys and go and support the ones who aren’t as lucky!

If you just want to do something less active and more laid back on Sunday, the IndieFlicks Film Festival might be just what you’ve been looking for. There will be deep, meaningful .. (list continuous..) short film from all around the world.
So get out there and have a beautiful weekend!

Cheers,

How was your Weekend?

The last full week before Christmas has started, so lets get it on. This is also the last official week, where Christmas music in the office is .. let’s say ,tolerated’. So go out and enjoy .. at last this is what will be doing!218cb3f5-0379-4f48-b44f-4828dfe17b5e.JPG

The weekend has been very active. Saturday morning the INTERNeX crew gathered in downtown for a very adventurous trip to the mountains. And by ‘in the morning’ I basically mean in the middle of the night, as it was still dark outside and not even coffee was working effectively against the jawning. Besides that it must have been very entertaining for outsiders to see us struggling with the heavy equipment making our way through downtown. Eventually we actually made it to the bus and headed towards Grouse Mountain.  The gondola took us all the way up the mountain and the first snow was to be seen. Some of us, maybe especially the Australian, bursted out in excitement by seeing the beautiful white wonderland. Apparently snow isn’t so common in down under ;-). Some of us decided it would be a better idea to rent out the equipment up the mountain, therefore the first stop has been the rental store. e9d56cc6-1562-4e4a-9770-2d28782ed431.JPGThose who rented there stuff in downtown waited outside, and decided to prepare for a little snowball attack to give the other ones a warm welcome as soon as they’d leave the rental store. Yes we know, this is incredibly grown up … :-D. As the waiting time turned out to be a lot longer than we expected, we ended up firing all the ammunition on each other. Of course we had enough time to even prepare a second round for the ones inside, which they clearly
551c1ff2-7294-4a7c-b782-a4d897f9a0da.JPGappreciated… not ;-D.
Anyways we finally managed to get up the mountain, put on those skies and/or snowboards and more or less successfully went down the slopes. For lunch we treated ourselves with pizza and some other semi-healthy snacks and cool beer and ciders before we went back out in the snow. Also discovering the fact that snowboards are the perfect toboggans, was a lot of fun and apparently a pretty good way to get down a slope if you are struggling to do it the recommended way, with your feet on the board. We also discovered that exactly that is apparently undesirable … spoilsports! 2e84eeaa-bb73-4cd4-b21a-763c24ee89a9.JPG

After this very long and exhausting day we got into the shuttle back to downtown. What a fantastic day. I cannot wait to go again.

Sunday I went on a little hike to the Quarry Rock and we actually enjoyed a stunning view from up there. As it was raining in North Vancouver and the sun shining in Vancouver, the sky looked breathtaking. So in case you haven’t been there – this is definelty a place to see! IMG_5034.JPG

So far so good.

I hope you already bought your Secret Santa.
In case you don’t really know what a secret Santa is and it will be working, check out the blog tomorrow as an explanation will follow.

Have a fantastic start into the new week!

Cheers,

How was your Weekend?

Time to start the week again with another Monday. How was everyones weekend?

Looking back at the week I had, it was my very first week in the INTERNeX office and it was busy but I enjoyed it. Nadja has been showing me the ropes and hopefully I can plan some fun activities this winter :). Friday I went on a lovely hike with my homestay friend Nathalie and we went to the Lynn Canyon Park and got some instagram worthy shots. For the afternoon I would take it easy as I had a big week in the office so I ordered Chinese food and watched The Greatest Showman.

79141587_441442856538477_2978845864597913600_n

Sunday, as most of you guys would know, we went Ice Skating at Robson Square and I would highly recommend to do it if you missed out as its only $5 to hire skates and that’s all you have to pay. For some it was muscle memory, for others it was easy and for me it was neither. Watching everyone do tricks had me thinking of doing some…. all I did was think of doing tricks and I fell over HAHA… after a few snow ball fights we then warmed up with some hot chocolate we moved to the Christmas Markets. The best thing about traveling with a group is all about sharing moments and maybe food too 🙂 haha. We all enjoyed the live music, the tiny pancake lady and the incredible food that the market had to offer. I bought a season pass so I will be going there for dinner sometime this week or maybe a few times this week 🙂 .79429660_2707828832614287_6919065831364100096_n

Surprisingly this weekend didn’t end in fireball shots which I’m low-key happy about (Last weekend was rough).

Thank you all for the great weekend and I will see you all at the Yale Saloon for our PuB Night Wednesday Night.

What to do on the Weekend?

Another Friday has come around and I would love to let you know the exciting things we have happening here at INTERNeX.

77394087_10157736173372103_7185791714286632960_n

As you might have seen on our Facebook page that the weather wasn’t really in our hands this week so we have had to have a few changes but don’t worry!! Ice Skating on Robson – Square will be happening on Sunday, another great way to enjoy winter in Vancouver. Saturday predicts some showers but Sunday looks like it may just be overcast (what more to expect from winter in the beautiful Canada ahah).

For those looking forward to Skiing, it has been rescheduled to 14th of December.

As one of my first weekend events I’m very excited to spend it Ice Skating with the christmasy atmosphere of beautiful Vancouver. In Australia it is about 31 degrees at the moment and yes, we do spend out Christmas day in our bikinis. This is my second Christmas in the winter and I love it. I hope you all share the same excitement as me and will hold my hand as we have a romantic time trying not to fall over.

However that’s not all that happening for me over the weekend, I will be checking out the Christmas markets if you would also like to check them out they are open from 11:30AM to 9:30PM so I will most likely be filling up on egg nog (a new discovery of mine that I have fallen in love with). A bit of history around it, its the 10th annual authentic German-inspired Christmas Markets where there will be traditional food and beverages, live entertainment and the opportunity to ride downtown Vancouver’s only Christmas Carousel. Don’t forget to buy your tickets online (adult is $12.99, Youth is $6.99).

If you are looking for a bit more of a romantic evening then I would suggest Stanley park, since Bright Nights has been available for the public. If you love Christmas lights then you will not be disappointed if you go.

Wishing you all the best for the weekend and make the most of it 🙂

xoxo

How was your Weekend?

And it’s Monday once again. But since it’s December now, turn up that Christmas music and make the best out of it!
Personally, I had a great weekend to look back to and I hope you guys did too. Friday was my day to relax. As me and my roommate had friends over this weekend we just spent most of the time catching up and talking over a glass of wine at night. Saturday was a bit more adventurous after all. Starting with taking a look at Yaletown transformed into Candytown. And Saturday was also the day to meet my new Co-Worker Sabrina. I am pretty sure you guys are gonna like her just as much as I do. So pretty much anyone who knows me by now, could figure that this ended up in a night going out. We went to a Irish bar/club and danced to Christmas-music all night long. Also Sabrina got into the joy of her first fireball here in Canada. Obviously ;-).

Sunday was a pretty calm day, till I got to meet the INTERNeX crew again!
Because Sunday was the day, I was looking forward to since my very first day here in Vancouver. The Hockey game!

Screen Shot 2019-12-02 at 2.32.04 PM

Starting this exciting event at the Beaver for some pre-drinks and food before the game. Thanks again to Moose Travel for inviting us over ;-).
From there we made our way to the Rogers Arena. Even if you had absolutely no idea were this is, you would never get lost.
So many people in the Canucks and Oilers clothing made their way to the stadium, so you simply had to follow their lead. Just like a huge colony of ants, the stream brought us right away to the entrance. From here everything went pretty quick. Security check and finding the seats turned out to be super ea
sy and uncomplicated. From there a great show was to be provided.
Starting of with the mascot opening the ice-rink. From there we got to see everything you want to see in an hockey game, many goals, a lot of cheering and so much tension. Even a little fight in the end.
Even tho the Canucks didn’t win in the end, we still had a great time.
This wasn’t the
