PuB-Night review

What a fun night!

Since this was my first PuB-Night ever, I am so impressed by the amount of people I met last night! Thank you for being so nice and welcoming!

IMG_4148The beaver, located on Granville Street, is definitely a place worth checking out! Even tho we were such a big group the stuff didn’t get tired to run up and down the stairs constantly. The Pub itself is a really nice place, just making you feel the canadian spirit.  A personal recommendation are the nachos! So good. Thanks again for getting me amped on them ;-).
Later we went on to playing some music bingo, apparently that’s the thing to do, when you visit the beaver on a Wednesday night. And I have to admit, this wasn’t the last time of me playing bingo in here. Some of us were even lucky enough to win and got into the joy of having some shots or even a pitcher for free! I think we can agree in having a pretty good night out this week!

After the long Thanksgiving weekend everybody was so happy to be around each other again. And besides me, there were some new faces to be welcomed in the group. Therefore a special welcome to you guys and thanks for coming!

But don’t worry the next Canadian highlight is already set. Since Halloween is such a big thing here, we should het the chance to get into some crazy costumes for our upcoming Halloween Party! Therefore, and because I am personally very excited to get to know you guys a little bit better, we’ll see each other on the weekend and go do some costume shopping together!
And I am promising you, the Halloween-vibe around here is just on another level!

I hope you are having a great day and see you soon.

PuB NiGHT review: 131 Water

Last night we had a pub night right next to the famous steam clock in Gastown (and yes we stopped to take some touristy pics with it). 131 Water was a really comfy bar and we were lucky to have the whole second floor to ourselves.

img_20190313_202539-e1552602704645.jpg

The bar had plenty of board games that you can play but we were too busy chatting with each other so no games this time. It was my second pub night here in Vancouver so I met a lot of new faces. For some of us it even was the first one but thankfully the INTERNeX gang is very welcoming. It was great to see how the new faces blended in the group so well.

In case you haven’t experienced any pub nights yet now is the time to start! It’s never too late to join but let me tell you that you are missing out every time you decide not to come. The big group of us had so many discussions last night and I think everyone made some new friends.

I was sad to hear that so many of you are leaving soon and won’t be able to take part in our amazing trip to the Rocky Mountains (yes there is a trip coming, yes it’s happening soon, yes I will tell more information later). Let me just say that this trip is something you definitely do not want to miss.

Thank you everyone who participated last night! The ones of you who are coming to Seattle I’ll see you on Sunday!

-Jasmin xx

Pub Night announcement

This Wednesday at 7 pm we’ll have our Pub Night at the Reef. It’s a Caribbean Restaurant and you’re able to get in even if you’re under 19 years old. So it would be great to see some of the younger of you guys as well.

They offers a big menu, which is inspired by the styles and tastes of the Caribbean. It’s also possible to get Poutine, the typical Canadian food. So, if you didn’t try it yet, you have the opportunity to do that this Wednesday at the Reef. They serves some September Features like Passion fruit Mousse for $5 or Maracas Bake, which is fried bread with chili lime seafood salad & daikon slaw. If you don’t like the Caribbean taste, you’re also able to get food like salads, tacos and burger. They offers different drink specials like the Red Stripe Lager on Wednesday.

The Reef is located at 1018 Commercial Drive. Click here for the map. Get off the SkyTrain at Commercial Broadway and follow then this direction.
Join the event here.

I wish you a great week and I’m looking forward to see you on Wednesday for another fun Pub Night.

PuB NiGHT Announcement

It’s PuB NiGHT again and we will storm the Railway Club to celebrate Tobias last PuB NiGHT in Vancouver! It’s one of Vancouver’s oldest bars, in business since the 1930s! Every day they host music events and that even since 1981. Over the years some artists have had their big break, playing in the ‘Rail’ and the tradition lives on today as new acts as well as current favorites continue to perform on stage.

The Railway Club’s food menu offers a wide variety for every appetite served at reasonable prices ($6.95 – $9.95) with regular daily specials featuring:

  • Homemade seasonal soup of the day
  • Delicious salads
  • Melt-in-your-mouth burgers, like the famous “De-Railer”
  • Lots of vegetarian options!
  • Classic sandwiches, like the mighty Reuben
  • Super appetizers, including the always popular Nachos
  • Great Daily Specials (Chicken Curry, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Seasonal Pastas, Fish Cakes, Quiche)

Regarding the drinks ^^ Besides their selection of micro brews on tap, you should try one of the house specialties, like for example the ‘Espresso Martini’!

Tomorrow they have several artists performing on stage and since we will be there early, admission is free! The night is going to start with the Savants and later on you can listen to live hip hop with Whiskaz. However, pay attention. The later you arrive, the more likely it is that you have to pay an entrance fee.
