Newest member of the INTERNeX Team

Tomorrow is PuB NiGHT, and there will be a new girl joining you. Me. My name is Megan and I’m the new PR-Coordinator at INTERNeX. I will work alongside Jasmin the next few weeks and organize events, trips and the PuB NiGHTs, and of course inform you about them on Facebook and the INTERNeX blogMegan-03.

I guess, I should tell you a bit more about myself. I’m 24 years old and I’m from northern Germany, where I study International Management. Two years ago, I spent a semester abroad in Victoria, where I had the most amazing time and fell in love with the Canadian culture.
So when I saw the INTERNeX job posting for the PR practicum in Vancouver, it was a no brainer for me to apply. It includes everything I like: meeting new people, adventures, and Canada.
Thus, you can imagine I was thrilled when I got the position. Getting to Canada wasn’t the easiest, but that is a story for another time. Now, I am here (…finally), and excited to see what the big city has to offer.

By the way, I am a foodie. So, if you are looking for somebody to go try new foods with, I’m your girl. Also, be prepared for some random dance sessions out of nowhere, paired with some clumsiness and maybe even some bad singing.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you tomorrow at Moose’s Down Under.

Finally a guy joining the team!

2017-08-12 15.34.16When I was in the Rockies I already heard some people say: “I’ve never seen that guy before, but he looks so cool” and “Wow, who is that awesome dude in the back of the buss?” To most of you I already gave an answer to that question, but for the rest of you, I will help you out. Let me introduce myself.

My parents gave me the name Bart when I was born. I am a 22-year-old student from the Netherlands (yes, from the stroopwafels). Right now I am doing the study Leisure managent at the really cool city called Breda. For all of you considering going to the Netherlands, make sure you visit that city one day.

2017-08-13 11.12.48For my internship I chose to go far away from all the rain and snow back home, so I decided to do my internship abroad. When I was looking on the Internet I saw INTERNeX has a place for me to do my internship. I was really excited while reading all the things they do and I heard some great stories from Danielle. Fun fact: Danielle used to be my babysitter when I was a first-year student at college. So back to my story, I decided to go to the always-sunny Vancouver where it never rains. I was wrong about that part. However, I am really glad I can do my internship here.

My first day at the office was a very hard day. First we talked about what we are going to do these weeks. Then it was time to buy a PlayStation 4 and grab a pizza. After that, Danielle and Tess came by to bring us some beers. The rest of the day we talked about the great things they have been through during their time here. You can imagine how tired I was after this long day at the office.

I am really excited to meet the rest of you who didn’t go to the Rockies. I am also really excited to speak to everybody again who did go to the Rockies, no worries 😉 Hope to see you all tonight at the PuB NiGHT!

Becoming a part of the new PR Team

20799859_1449831481772185_4738325276547896688_n

My name is Mandy Janssen and I will be joining the new PR team until the beginning of March. I will be helping to organize the PuB NiGHTS and the weekly and monthly events. I already met some of you lovely people during the amazing Rockies trip but for the people I haven’t met yet I will shortly introduce myself.

I am 21 years old and I am from a small city called Eindhoven in The Netherlands. I am studying International Event Management which is part of the Leisure program and for this study I will do a practicum here with INTERNeX in the beautiful city of Vancouver.

In my free time I love to hang out with friends at a bar or club, going to the cinema with them, go shopping or just grab something to eat in a nice restaurant.

One of my biggest passions in life is music, I have always been surrounded by music and I learned to play the keyboard and I follow singing classes as well. One thing that I also do in my free time is working as a first-aider at different events. So if any of you ever needs a first-aider during one of the events, I will be glad to help you.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you tonight at the PuB NiGHT!

INTERNeX Explorer Ep1 – 2017 Behind the scenes

This week we posted our first episode of the INTERNeX Explorer. We are planning to publish an episode every month. Our new show will include some cool spots in and around Vancouver, upcoming trips and events as well as a review of the previous month. We hope to inform and entertain you with our little show we call the INTERNeX Explorer.

It was lots of fun making the first episode. We started with writing our own scripts. The hardest part was coming up with some interesting fun facts about ourselves. However, with some help from each other, we all figured out what to write. ix-explorer_ep1-2017Afterwards the filming finally started. As it was the first time we were being filmed, we were all a bit nervous, which made us forget our text sometimes. Luckily, we had our scripts near by and quite some time available to shoot the video. Janel had the chance to practice her news reading skills and also had to point to pictures which were not here and added in post. As she never did that before, it was a bit awkward.

The most difficult part was the part of the future events. First Danielle kept touching the green screen, as she wanted to put her jacket on. We therefore decided it would be easier if she was already wearing the jacket. But of course that meant she was getting hot wearing the jacket the entire time while filming. It was sometimes hard to stop laughing when we were shooting the part of future events. Simon had to sit in a very uncomfortable position on his knees outside the view of the camera to give Danielle the ski sticks.

After the shooting was done Simon and Tess had to do the editing. The postproduction of the video seemed to be the hardest part of our whole process. A lot of footage had to be viewed and in the end some music had to be found. The final cut went to some reviews and the entire team had to be alright with it. Simon said we can be proud of our first video and also that we will improve with every episode. We hope you agree with him and look forward to produce the next episode with him.

If you haven’t already, check out our first episode of the INTERNeX Explorer:

I hope you will enjoy the video and I am looking forward to hearing your comments!

The New Guy

New Intern here at INTERNeX! My name is Amiel and although I’ve already been here for a few weeks, I finally get to begin.the new guy

Now, let me tell you a bit about myself and what I’ll be doing. I’m a 24 year old university student from Germany, in my senior year, working on my Bachelor in International Business Administration.
I might not look like it but I really am German…and American. So, a little bit of both and believe it or not, this isn’t that rare where I’m from.

Alright, let’s get back on track.
I came to Canada with the INTERNeX Practicum program and over the next 4 months I’ll be working as a PR Coordinator together with Natasja. Organizing activities for you like the weekly PuB NiGHTs, events&trips and also keeping you updated on all things concerning INTERNeX. Check out the Blog and Facebook regularly for news on fun stuff to do in and around Vancouver.

I’m really looking forward to an awesome experience here in Canada.
See you at the next Pub Night!

Cheers

Amiel
