Review: Halloween party @ Blarney Stone

Last Friday we went to Blarney Stone for an awesome Halloween party. A lot of people were already about to line up in front of Blarney Stone at 7pm when we arrived. Luckily our tickets allowed us to skip the line. Inside it was already packed with people. We quickly realized that this was all the party people who participated in the Halloween pub crawl. After some time quite a few people went on to the next pub… but it didn’t last long before a lot more people arrived, and the pub was once again packed.

There really was no limit to the craziness of the different costumes that we saw this night! We saw everything from a guy dressed up as spaghetti with meatballs to a girl wearing a big hat that looked like a turkey. There was a Nina Turtle, Spiderman, a guy wearing a banana costume and much much more. As you can see we were of course also dressed up for Halloween.

We all had a great time. Got a bit of something to eat, a bit to drink and then off we went to the packed dance floor. The music played was not always the ordinary type of club music, and every now and then a live band was playing… actually not bad at all! You could sort of call this a Halloween party with an Irish twist.

Thanks to you guys who made this evening and night awesome! Take a look at more Halloween party pictures here.

Hope to see you for another great event/activity this Saturday at Extreme Air Park (Canada’s BIGGEST trampoline park). Don’t worry, it’s not dangerous. Everybody can do it 🙂 You can sign up here.

And of course we also have our pub night at Doolin’s Irish Pub on Wednesday at 7pm.

Finally, we have our Portland trip from October 14th till October 16th. Join in for some early Christmas shopping, NBA awesomeness and great sightseeing. Sign up here and visit the INTERNeX office to make your payment (only $229 for the trip + $30 for an NBA match!).

Review: Pub Night @ The Lennox Pub

Yesterday we had yet another good pub night.

This time we met at the Irish pub the Lennox Pub in downtown Vancouver. The weather was a bit cooler compared to the nice sunny and hot weather the last couple weeks but fortunately there was plenty of space for us inside the cozy Irish pub. It was nice to see all of you who showed up for the pub night. A couple of us chose to try out the pub’s food while others just tried out some of the pub’s tasty and delicious selection of beers. We were lucky that the pub had a few special offers on beers this evening.

While getting something to drink and eat we had a really good time chatting about various topics. It was great to hear how everybody is doing in their different projects,  and what kind experiences and adventures everybody’s had in Canada as well as in other places around the world. Those who met up but didn’t have the chance to go to our Rockies trip also got the chance to hear a bit about some of the very good moments from this amazing trip. We’re definitely looking forward to our next great trip, and we hope to see just as many joining the trip. It will be awesome!

It would be great to even more people turn up for our next pub night. We’re definitely looking forward to yet another good evening in good company next Wednesday.

Pub Night Review

It’s the day after Pub Night, sometimes referred to Hangover-Thursday. Yesterday we went to the lovely Irish Pub on Granville and Nelson. We were around 20 INTERNeX people, quite a lot 🙂

Of course we had our usual drinks and food. For those who did not tried the food it is pretty good and the burger which was eaten at the opposite of me, looked delicious. However for the ‘healthy’ ones underneath us the salad is also very good. Besides food and drinks, there was also some fussball matches going on and of course the usual talk about what’s going on on the weekend. Let’s cross our fingers for the weekend that the sun is coming out and we can enjoy our bike ride through Stanley park!

On Monday the first soccer game for Germany will be played and of course we will be cheering for Germany from Canada. If you want you can join us to watch the game at 9am at Sciue on 800 pender street next to the Pacific Centre. It is a nice Italian bistro sweet menu cart, a breakfast is around $6. You are free to join us.

See you on Saturday!

Review Granville Island

Last friday we went to the Cheesecake ETC for some delicious cheesecake afterwards we went to the Doolin’s for some drinks.

At the Cheesecake ETC you can choose between the original or the chocolate cheesecake. You can top them with a strawberry, raspberries or with a peanut butter cream. They also have daily specials, which was a cherry topping when we went. If you are not into to cheesecake you can also go for a Raisin & Walnut Cake or French toast. Not only delicious cheesecake can be ordered, also different lattes, teas and cold drinks are offered.

The Cheesecake ETC is located just of the Granville Brigde and opens at 7pm and stays open till 1am. So whenever you feel like dessert at night, this is the place the be. A nice cozy, candlelight-dark place.

After enjoying our cheesecake we decided to go to Granville Island for some drinks and a wander around, however the weather looked like rain, so we decided to go to Granville street and find a pub for some drinks. On Granville street we decided to go to the Doolin’s, a Irish pub on the corner of Granville and Nelson. At the Doolin’s we ordered some drinks and a couple more people went for poutine.

We hoped you enjoyed your cheesecake, see you at the Pub Night this week

ps: Don’t forget the rehearsal before the Pub Night (it’s a must, hehe)
