What to do on the weekend

It’s weekend again and it’s time to enjoy a couple of days with exiting activities. Check out these suggestions to get some inspiration for what to do during the weekend.

This weekend The Hopscotch Festival is coming to Vancouver. This festival is dedicated to all of you who love scotch, whisky, spirits and beer tasting. During the last couple of years this festival has just grown bigger with more vendors participating each year. This year the festival will host more than 120 vendors and will offer more than 380 products. So there will definitely be something to everybody’s liking. The Hopscotch Festival offers an out of the ordinary scotch, whisky, spirits and beer tasting that includes live jazz music. This event will take place throughout the weekend and is open from 12pm until 10pm at the PNE Forum at East Hastings Park. Have a look here to get more information and a map of the location.

If you want to give your taste buds an extra pleasant experience you should visit the Il Mercato Italian Night Market. Here you can taste all kinds of Italian fresh produce. And of course classic Italian mandolin and accordion music will add to the Italian atmosphere. So if you want a real authentic Italian experience outside of Italy this is the place to go. The market will be set up for you to visit at 3075 Slocan Street on Friday, November 21st. Click here to view map of location and to get more information.

After eating a lot of delicious Italian food and tasting some nice whisky and beer you might want to do a bit of exercise. Here’s a suggestion for you. This Sunday you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Movember Moustache Miler. This is a cool 5km/3 mile run through the beautiful Stanley Park. It’s part of Movember, so you’ll most likely see a lot of men showing of their moustaches to support the fight against prostate and testicular cancer. Of course women are also welcome. Click here to view location and to get more info.

Enjoy your weekend!

What to do at the weekend

Finally weekend again and time to visit some more amazing places, that Vancouver has to offer. Here are some suggestions for you.

Friday

On Friday evening the Italian Night Market offers you the opportunity to have a look at some Italian focused demonstration, such as Olive Oil Tastings and Pasta Making. You can visit the Market every third Friday of the month from 3-7 pm. They have a great selection of foods, craft and entertainment. The market will be placed  at Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre on East 12th Ave & Slocan near Renfrew Sky Train station. If you’re tired of all the sushi here in Vancouver, go and eat some Italian food at Italian Night Market.

Saturday

On Saturday you should join INTERNeX for the visit to Queen Elizabeth Park. The park is one of the highlights of any visit to Vancouver. You’re able to catch amazing views over the city, just relax or play Frisbee and other fun games.Sign up for this event here.
So let’s go out and enjoy the sun while it’s still here.

Sunday

A second highlight, you shouldn’t miss, is Bowen Island. It’s just a 20-minute ferry ride from the Horseshoe Bay Terminal in West Vancouver. The ticket for the ferry is $11,65. You’re probably able to see some seals during the ride. On Bowen Island there are many opportunities to go hiking or biking. Make sure that you’ll hike up to the Dorman Point. It’s just a 2.5 km hike and takes about 1.5 hours. The Dorman Point offers nice views of Whytecliffe Park in West Vancouver and the University of British Columbia( UBC). If you don’t like hiking, you’re also able just to relax at the very nice beaches on Bowen Island.
Go and visit Bowen Island to enjoy the last rays of the sun.

We wish you a sunny and enjoyable weekend.
